  | Aged Bronze Tin Ceiling | Jul 2013 | Aged Bronze Foyer Entry. Measures 10' x 15' As a designer, who enjoys eclectic beauty, I find creative and proper use of metal panels, reliefs and moldings can add richness and beauty to almost any project. The home owner allowed Response by Design to create a master entry that is stunning and dramatic. View photos to see how the project unfolded. 1 x 2 furring strips were anchored securely with screws and glue. Each panel was cleaned with a mild solvent to eliminate any oily residue from the manufacturing process. The panels were then individually wiped with denatured alcohol and handled with soft gloves. Each overlapping panel is secured by mastic and nailing the panel to the furring strip. Once the metal ceiling was in place a five coat aged bronze finish was applied. The panels came to life with a rich patina luster that can only be achieved with patience. A large 12 faux stone molding was used to house the hidden accent lighting. The faux stone clad box was supported by matching faux stone corbels. The result exceeded all expectations.   | Dim The Lights, It's Movie Time. | May 2013 | Response by Design has recently completed the design and installation of an old world Tuscan themed home theater. The family will enjoy a rich private entertainment experience with a 110 screen with a rear projector and the latest advances in home theater audio and video electronics. The home theater is nestled into a space with views of three distinctive arched doorways. Next to the home theater, a future art gallery awaits the delivery of paintings the couple will purchase from their trips to Europe. An aged bronze hand painted barreled ceiling and future wet bar are ethereally separated by beautifully carved faux stone balustrades and two large tapered columns supported by large stone box columns. Another European styled stone entry is flanked by tapered columns that lead to a private stoned grotto wine cellar entrance where one can pause and enjoy hand carved limestone statuary. Once in the grotto, you are beckoned through a pair of LiteIron wrought iron gates that have been custom designed to further enhance the entrance to the wine cellar. The richness of this entry befits the connoisseurs valued 1000 bottle wine collection and large custom built cigar humidor. This home theater design provides a place for more than viewing movies.
