| 73rd Street Tudor Upgrade | Apr 2014 | Completed a home energy audit on this beautiful 1930 tudor. The house was extremely drafty and energy bills were high. After a thorough energy audit, we determined the air leakage in the basement and attic were both significant and the attic insulation was entirely too low. We added insulation to bring the home up to the Energy Star R-49 standard, completely sealed and insulated the rim joist in the basement and did a complete attic sealing and basement sealing. The customer now no longer needs a humidifier in the basement, and she received rebates of $1,200 from Missouri Gas Energy and Kansas City Power & Light which offset over 70% of her total cost!
