I have a boiler with steam heat. I also have central AC which I have been told acts like a heat pump. I would like to replace my current thermostat that runs both with a wireless one such as a new Honeywell or Nest thermostat. I do not have have access to a C wire so all my attempts at installing a new thermostat have failed. I tried adding in a 24 volt adapter for the C wire. I could get the thermostat working but the thermostat failed to turn on the boiler.
