I purchased a portable air conditional unit. This units BTU/hour of 8000 is based on the U.S. Department of Energys new standard and is the same as units manufactured prior to 2017 with BTU/hour of 13500. When I plugged in the unit thirty minutes later the breaker was tripped. I will need a designated circuit breaker for my portable unit.
