6/30/20 at the completion of the job Jose Lucatero advised me of a large area that was stain damaged by their workers. Together we tried to find a cost effective remedy so as not to have to do the expensive demolition of the area and replace it. The workers tried (to no avail) to clean the area with muriatic acid. They even tried to sand it off, but it only made the aggregate finish worse. Jose decided the most cost effective cost repair was to do an overlay o be completed by Brad McCalister. Total cost $3,442.00 ( $1,227.00 more than contract balance due) At this point we agreed I would pay balance due on my contract and Jose would pay and be responsible for the balance. Only problem was Brad McCalister would not return my calls after I requested counsel regarding procedure and colors.. On 8/12/20 I received this text from Jose: "Hello, I've been busy and have gotten no response. At this time I cannot help anymore going forward. This project was completed in full and anything else we do we're losing money, We do our best to help but my hands are tied and I cannot do anything else for you. We were never paid in full and you can use the difference to fix in any way you wish. Thanks" Jose is well aware that he has left me with an expensive repair, thousands beyond the balance due. This is damage that Jose has admitted to having caused. But due to the expense Jose has chosen to abandon the project. He has refused to return my calls and instead he has walked away from taking full responsibility for the damages caused by his workers. I filed a case with the Contractors State Licensing Board.
