I am a decorative artist who specializes in custom painted and custom re-stained cabinetry and furniture. I have 30+ years of decorative painting and teaching experience, which includes 17 years of faux finishing. I hold a Certified Decorative Artist designation and consider myself a teaching artist. I have traveled and taught classes all over the U.S. and Canada. From 2002 to 2008, I travel taught decorative faux wall and cabinetry finishes through the Faux Masters Studios in CA and AZ. As a lifetime resident of the Kansas City area, I honed my craft working as a full-time faux finisher and in the 80's, I owned a decorative painting retail store called Country Parcels. My publications include two instructional books, as well as a line of instructional painting brochures. I have had a number of articles appear in industry magazines, including Country Accents, Country Decorating, Better Homes & Gardens Weekend Projects, and Good House Keeping. Check out my photos for some samples of my work.

My kitchen cabinets were transformed into rich looking custom cabinets without the huge cost and inconvenience of a complete make over. And visitors still cannot believe how beautiful the dark wood with metallic tones has worn so well. I loved it so much, we moved on to built in cabinets and railings. Should have done it long ago!

Brenda was a joy to work with--professional, friendly and generous with her experience as she helped guide us from our vague idea of what we wanted to a new look that we love and that truly enhances the heart of our home.

I was completely satisfied with the work. We did not want to replace our kitchen cabinets and Brenda painted and detailed our cabinets white. Everyone who sees my cabinets think I have brand new cabinets!!!
