Multi-Species Butcher Block | Aug 2012 | This custom island butcher block was made for a client who entertains regularly and wanted a beautiful and durable surface for the upper level of her island to complement the honed black granite found throughout her kitchen. Legacy designed this piece around an alternating patter of mahogany, white oak and Canadian rock maple to create a visually compelling aesthetic. Each piece is biscuited on a 16'' run at varying intervals and every six sticks are dedoed and splined with a quarter sawn mahogany spline. Each piece of wood also rotates in grain pattern to reduce movement across the entire piece. The entire butcher block is sealed with a high build polyurathane to deflect water rings and stains. | $3k | Ocean City, NJ | |
