Oakland Ave. Shopping Center

The aged and failing asphalt pavement was topped with new 3500 psi concrete. Parking spaces were changed to a slanted configuration to ease entry and egress. Traffic routing was made one way to help speed flow during the anchor restaurant's peak times.

Oakland Ave Shopping Center

Jun 2014

This building was formerly a home and the owner was converting this to commercial office or retail space. As it stood, there were many small rooms breaking up the floor space. Four walls and a centrally located fireplace were removed and supporting structure installed to open up the main area. The bathroom was out of date and, while HC accessible, still contained the tub. The tub was removed and the fixtures replace with new. Also, a second handicap bathroom was added meeting all the new codes. Large porches had been enclosed, but still had he aged pine flooring sloped for drainage. These floors were leveled and doorways re-trimmed to match the rest of the interior with period style woodwork. New brick entry steps and handicap ramp were installed with proper handrails. Finally, the whole interior was repainted and floors re-covered. The unit is now much more attractive and useable to prospective tenants.

Kathy's Carport

May 2013

Kathy's parking slab was badly sloping and broken. She wanted a covered area that was stylish and functional, something beyond a cheap metal carport. We removed the damaged pavement, installed retaining walls to level the pad, and re-poured the concrtete. Then, in order to match the style of her rustic home, we built a solid oak post and beam structure with commercial metal roofing and rafters in cocoa brown set at a pitch to be less visible from the street. All wood was painted to match her beautiful home.
