Unless you like hounding people to get done what they are contractually obligated to do (and then it still doesn't get completed), DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER! Trust me, you don't want the stress of moving and then also having to basically be the project manager of repairs for the builder. Find a reputable builder and save yourself the stress. Summit Homes has really made this a MISERABLE experience! We closed on our home with Summit Homes on January 22nd, 2021. Upon closing, there were many issues still on our 'punch list' that the builder still needed to complete. For example: 1. the front porch and both back porches still needed to be painted. 2. Many areas inside the home still needed touch-up paint. 3. Areas inside the home needed drywall repairs. 4. Front door literally fell off the hinges approximately 1 month after move-in. 5. Front door still needs to be hung correctly. 6. Can light is falling out of the ceiling. 7. Lower backyard is covered with trash from construction. 8. There is a dent in the wall in the basement from the door that was there prior to move-in. 9. Master bathroom door, when locked, 90% of the time will not unlock and someone has to come use a screwdriver from the outside to let the person out of the bathroom. 10. Kitchen refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher put into the house by builder have dents and scratches. 11. Kitchen island is not secure. If drawer is shut with force, the whole island shakes. 12. Drawer in kitchen island is damaged and was supposed to be replaced. 13. Master bedroom subfloor creaks so loudly when walked on it will wake up the other person sleeping in the master bedroom. 14. Shingles on the roof need to be fixed. 15. Faucets in master bath and upstairs guest bath are loose. These are some of the issues we have not been able to get completed by the builder. We have contacted them numerous times and even had someone come out and do another walk-through with us and tell us things would be completed. However, even after we have had our real estate agent contact them, we are still unable to get anything scheduled. The painters did finally come on the 11th of March, but that had been scheduled before we did the last walk-through (it's not something new the builder scheduled). The builder is supposed to have the punch list completed by the 45th day, but we are past that and nowhere near completion. Like I said before, save yourself the multiple headaches you will get from dealing with this builder!
