25 Jan 2016, Jill at Columbia apologized for the mistakes made for the work on my 3 doors, she refunded me all the money and they paid to replace the door. They have integrity, they made things right, and I would do business with them again. Leah W. Orem, UT

I came to Columbia millworks yesterday, Friday morning, Jan 22, 2016 to have 3 slab doors get the door knob and key hole milled and also the 3 hinges milled into the side of the doors. I paid upfront for the work. I brought the old doors with me so that there could be no mistake about the measurements for these area that needed to be milled. The person who did the job rushed though it as fast as possible and as the old saying goes" measure twice and cut once" was completely ignored by him. He measured it wrong and cut it wrong. This caused us tons of trouble when the hinges did not fit because he milled them too low by about an !/8 of an inch. We assumed that he had cut them properly so we put the hinges on the door and screwed them on, only to find out that they would not align with the other part of hinge that was on the door casing. Because we had to take the door hinge off and move it 1/8 of an inch the hole were so close to together that the screw kept sliding into the old hole, the integrity of the hinge was greatly compromised because the new hole was so close to the old hole. He made this mistake on all 3 doors. We had to get a drimmel out and expand the hinge cutouts. It took us a considerable amount of tme and one door actually needs to be replaced at a cost of $35 because the hinge will not hold well because all of hinge holes that hold the screws had to be done over. I need you to refund me the $25 I paid for the work and also $35 to replace one of the doors. When we saw the mistake we were careful on the other 2 doors not to put in the screws first until we had redone the hinge mill work ourselves. This could have all have been avoided if the young man had measured carefully. He had the old door right in front of him. He could also have checked his work after he was done but he was in such a hurry, When I tried to check his work before we left, he acted like it was offending him so I let him just put the old doors and the new ones into the truck. That was my mistake, I should have insisted to inspect the work right there at your place. As you know there is no give with hinges either they come together and fit or they do not.
