Duke Ed

I called Ed Duke August 30 and he came to my house to look at the remodel for my bathroom. I also had some doors I wanted replaced and asked for separate estimates. Ed told me he would have the estimate done the next day and told me he was slow on work. I didn’t hear from him. I was wanting to buy the doors because I had found a good price on them and called him seven times. Ed did not answer. I bought two doors because I knew the size but was uncertain of the other. Ed finally called me back when I was on my way home from the 130 mile one way trip. Ed never gave me an estimate. I called Ed 38 times in ten days and left messages as well as sending him texts. He never answered, returned my calls or responded to my texts. I finally sent him a text telling him the professional response to me would have been to tell me he wasn’t or couldn’t do the work and wasn’t going to provide an estimate as promised so I could be looking for someone dependable to the work and told him he apparently needed a lesson in respect and professionalism. Ed responded by saying “sorry dude as it turns out I won’t be able to squeeze you into my schedule after all.” He then responded an hour later and said “ I will go ahead and give you an estimate been busy as hell. It will be November tho.” I replied and said that’s fine. He replied and said “k talk later.” I’ve called Ed and he’s not returned my call or provided an estimate after another week. Part of being a professional is keeping your customer informed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Ed Duke as he does not communicate or follow through with what he says or promises. Honesty and integrity should be the backbone of every company and especially a small business.
