Skip's FireWood Service

Yesterday the owner, a known and unabashed klan member, DROVE HIS TRUCK THROUGH A CROWD OF PEACEFUL PROTESTERS in Lakeside. Please avoid doing business with Skip at all costs. I nearly bought firewood from Skip at one point, but he was too disorganized to set up a drop off, so fortunately I never gave him any money.

We contacted Skips for our wood fired restaurant and he brought us samples of cured hardwood. Once we decided to move forward with two chords ($675) he brought the first delivery of hard wood which was stacked by my staff, the second delivery was delivered during dinner service and was not inspected. Later it was found out that it was wet poplar, unusable for our purposes. (after he had cashed his check).Upon dinner service the next day we were set back by having to heat the wood fired oven for 4 hours to get it to temperature, using an excessive amount of wood. He requested that the check be made out to him personally "Harry Rogers". Harry does not respond to repeated telephone calls. I believe that this is done on purpose. He did not leave an invoice for the delivery. I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Virginia Consumer Protection Section and have relayed my experience to other business' in the Richmond area that utilize wood so that they can avoid having the same experience we did.
