We have worked with Gene Denton on two bathroom remodels and have been very pleased with both. Gene worked within our budget and his craftsman, Bob, was a very detailed person. The tile work was terrific. We would use It's Gotta Go for another project and can easily recommend this company!

They did total remodeling of 2 bathrooms in our home. Both projects were done very well. Done the way we wanted, done in the time we discussed and the workmanship was excellent. Worker was always respectful of us and our home, he was clean, on time and very pleasant as was Gene. I will use them for our kitchen remodel in the future. And a friend of ours used them for their bathroom remodel.

We hired It's Gotta Go LLC for a bathroom remodel last year and our experience was first class. Gene was very knowledgeable and helpful in preparing the quote, getting good prices on materials (like tile) and made sure all of the work was on schedule. The day-to-day work was done by Jeff, one of the best and most experienced and meticulous contractors I've ever met. Jeff was on time, worked hard every day, was always pleasant, and was exacting in his work. We would not hesitate to recommend It's Gotta Go LLC for your remodeling project.

I hired Gene Denton, with It's Gotta Go, to oversee the demolition of my old tile shower and installation of a new tile shower- including a custom pan. The Good: Gene is professional and polite. The Bad: There was a problem with the installation- another tile professional confirmed that the installation was not done correctly and especially not done in a way that would look professionally done. Gene took one person off the job and had someone else come in and demo the job and redo it. It turned out looking quite nice- but it did add stress and time to the project length. The Really Bad: Fast forward ~20 months....this shower has been used inconsistently- as that room has not always had someone living there. A new roommate moves in, takes her first shower, there had been a hairball in the drain...so she ended up with 1/2 inch of standing water....during her shower. She didn't think anything of it...after all, the water level got no where near the curb to the shower. I am then notified, by my roommate in the basement that there is a leak....in the exact same place I had had a leak when I hired Gene and It's Gotta Go ~20 months prior. I couldn't believe it. I had spent a lot of money and time and energy on the new shower- and now I have a new roommate with no shower to use...for who knows how long... The Really Really Bad: I called Gene to let him know about the leak, assuming, a professional with a reputation to uphold would be interested in what had gone wrong with the shower that his company had demoed, and installed. Even if just for a lesson learned for the company. After all, who would know what it looks like under the studs/floor better than him and his company? I was wrong. I was told that his jobs have a strict 12 month warranty. After voicing my disappointment, Gene listened, and held firm to his 12 month warranty. He then offered that I could pay one of his guys to come out and assess the problem and then pay them to fix the problem. Given all of the problems I had had with them so far, I wasn't too excited about this proposition, but I asked him to let me know when the assessment could be done and how much it would cost. I let him know of the issue over a month ago. No call back, NOTHING. I have since been working and talking with several other plumbers, most of which also have a 12 month warranty- where they differ is in their pride in their work. All that I have talked to said they would want to get to the bottom of the issue, and see what happened. Many said they would at most charge the homeowner for materials in that situation- because their reputation is their business and they stand behind their work. When I mentioned to Gene that I felt inclined to write a review, detailing our unfortunate initial shower installation and subsequent shower failure, he said he would deny it. I have tried to be truthful and share my experience in working with the company. Gene is within his right to do the bare minimum and stick to his contract. I expected more, I expected that a brand new custom shower would last decades, not months. Therefore, I am sharing my experience, in case it helps anyone else when deciding between contractors. He has lost my business. I had received his card from World of Tile. They will also be notified.
