The air conditioning on my commercial building stopped working. I called the usual place that I go to and they told me the compressor was broken and that I really needed to replace the unit- they quoted my just over $4,000! I called Buffalo Energy because of a friend at the gym. They came out and spent 3 hours going from the unit to my basement really going at the problem. Larry was so meticulous and determined to find the problem, and he did. The compressor was fine, there was a control panel issue in the furnace. Long story short, they saved me just about $4,000. Honesty in a contracting company is all you can ask for!

Elmwood Village House Gets Cozy | Jan 2016 | This beautiful historic home called us because they had terrible ice damming in the winter of 2015 and wanted to never have that happen again! Our solution was to remove the ineffective fiberglass insulation and to install closed cell foam insulation to the roof deck and the basement rim joists. Heat rising to the underside of the roof deck is followed by cold air coming in through the basement - stopping the air movement at the top and the bottom is the most effective way of keeping heated air in your house and preventing ice dams from forming in the first place. | $9k | Buffalo, NY
The Christmas Miracle House | Jan 2016 | We responded to this customer when he called for a roof deck spray foam estimate in early december. During our first appointmnet and inspection we noticed a substantial amount of blackened area noting wetness and suspicious microbial growth. Through further discussions with the client we learned that they also had contract with a roofing company to have the roof replace but that they had been waiting for a year for that work to begin. So we knew that the roof had to come off before we could apply the spray foam insulation. Taking advantage of the good fortune we had this year with such an abnormally warm December in Buffalo we determined that the weather was our miracle and we hit the ground running to complete both the complete roof tear off and insulation on the same day! By bringing in a trusted roofing company that was willing to collaborate and raise to the occasion with us we were able to accomplish the 'Christmas Miracle House' project! Once the home was set with it's new lid and proper insulation we then installed a heat recovery ventilation system to provide the proper number of air changes to improve the air quality, healthfulness of the home and to prevent that same roofing/moisture issue from happening again in the future. Note that our job cost amount does not include the price of the roof - only our services of insulation and ventilation. | $7k | East Concord, NY
From sleeping bag to sleeping like a baby! | Dec 2015 | This customer called for an insulation quote because his house was so cold last winter that he had to bring a sub-zero sleeping bag to bed to keep warm! During our insulation inspection we noticed that there was some fiberglass insulation in the attic but there were large areas that were completely un-insulated. In just one day we were able to remove the inefficient fiberglass and install the proper amount of spray foam and cellulose insulation along the roof deck where it would be most effective to keep his home comfortable. He is free from his sub-zero sleeping bag and will stay that way! | $4k | Henderson, NV
The American Rehab Buffalo House for HGTV and DIY Networks | Jun 2014 | We were thrilled to be a part of this HGTV and DIY Network series, American Rehab Buffalo with Jason & Bernice! These development dynamos and Buffalo Energy have had a long lasting friendship and shared passion for energy efficiency, preservation and rehabbing. The home was vacant for roughly 10 years and the pair bought it at a city auction for $16,000. Buffalo Energy joined the crew and began with an energy assessment which showed that there was no existing insulation anywhere in the house - this is common for an historic home of this era but not acceptable by today's living standards. We blew cellulose insulation into the walls and into the attic floor which added a level of soundproofing and will keep the home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. | $9k | Buffalo, NY
We solve uneven temperatures and ice damming on the roof | Feb 2016 | This customer called with concern that there were uneven temperatures throughout her house and that she had ice damming on her roof. So we made an appointment to assess her home with an energy audit. Using this holistic approach to evaluate the uneven temperatures throughout her split-level home led us to determine that there was significant air leakage throughout and that the cause was a lack of insulation. Since the roof was so low pitched we applied spray foam insulation to the top plate of the wall assembly and two feet in on the ceiling because that is the most effective way to stop heat loss and solve her ice damming for good (with our Lifetime Guarantee) then we strategically air sealed the rest of the attic flat and throughout the home - lastly we applied spray foam insulation to the rim joists which, together, solved the uneven temperatures throughout the house. The customer was very happy, left us a great review and most importantly is much more comfortable in her home now! | $4k | Pittsford, NY |
