Tile Guys LLC

I had Tile Guys install tile flooring in our foyer hallway, utility room, kitchen and bathroom off the foyer. It was done a number of years ago and recently I noticed that the tiles around the toilet were cracking, then I noticed that the flooring in the same area, which was in front of the toilet was very spongy. I called our plumber to see what the cause might be and he said that he felt that the toilet was not set correctly when the flooring was put in but the only way to find out was to remove the toilet so that he could check. When he removed the toilet he found that the toilet flange and donut where put down directly on the plywood underlayment and then the tile was laid. By doing this it caused the toilet to leak every time it was used and the leak was going under the tile flooring so that I did not know this was happening. Consequently he had to remove the entire tile flooring all the way down to the joints under the flooring. What a mess! So after our plumber determined what had to be done and started on the work I called Tile Guys to ask them about it. They said if we had called them first they would have come and fixed it for us at no charge because they guaranteed their work. But since work was already in progress and they could not see what happened it was all on us. Why would I want them to fix something when they did it incorrectly the first time? I was totally shocked that they would not consider making any adjustment for me on this repair. IF you get tile guys to do anything for you in a bathroom make sure that they have changed the way they install the toilet. Keep an eye on them when they are working so you can be sure that the flange and donut are not put down until after the floor is installed. Poor business ethics as far as I am concerned. They will not do anything else for me and I cannot recommend them knowing what happened to me.
