NYC Condo Bathroom Renovation | Renovation of bathroom in NYC condo including reglazing of existing tub, new carrara marble mosaic floor and wall tile, Toto dual flush toilet and Kohler vanity and plumbing fixtures. Completed in 4 days between Christmas and New Years. | $9k | New York, NY
Princeton Kitchen Renovation | Soon after moving into her new residence, this homeowner wanted a brand new kitchen to replace the worn, outdated kitchen that came with the house. Starting out, Wyanoke Builders replaced the old ceramic floor tile with a new ebony stained solid maple floor before installing semi-custom cabinets, a farmhouse sink and beautiful granite countertops. In addition to the Electrolux and Jenn-Air appliances, a undercabinet wine cooler was installed, a garbage disposal and both in- and under-cabinet lighting. | $49k | Princeton, NJ
Victorian Basement Renovation | Making room for this children’s playroom required a substantial reorganization of the basement in this victorian home. In order to maximize the open floor area, ductwork and plumbing lines were relocated, structural elements replaced and separate storage and utility rooms created. In addition to installing wood wainscoting, durable Interface Flor carpet tile and energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the play area, a new powder room with Kohler fixtures was built, a wine cellar created and the laundry area relocated. By installing a two-part subfloor product and spray-in closed cell foam insulation, the energy efficiency of the space was improved substantially. | $44k | Montclair, NJ
Long Island Kitchen Renovation | In order to create a more comfortable, more functional kitchen for this young family, we started by gutting large portions of the existing kitchen down to the studs. Before laying the porcelain floor tile, we installed a radiant floor heating system to address the fact the kitchen is situated above a poorly insulated crawl space. The new Ultracraft semi-custom cabinets gave us lots of flexibility in the design and layout, including using 15" deep upper wall cabinets (opposed to the standard 12") to provide additional storage room. The countertops are granite and the backsplash is a mixture of porcelain subway tile and a tumbled marble and glass mosaic. New recessed lights and under-cabinet LED lights contributed to a better lit space and small details - such as the dutch door to the basement (to keep eye on the kids), the Delta faucet with Touch2O technology, the freestanding oven with double ovens and the GE Advantium microwave oven - make the space as productive as it is beautiful. | $34k | Baldwin, NY
Subway Tile Kitchen | Drafty windows, deteriorated flooring, poor lighting and insufficient cabinet space made this kitchen less enjoyable than it should have been for this Montclair, NJ family. Wyanoke Builders was brought in to redesign and renovate the kitchen and to add unique touches like schoolhouse lighting, an antiqued subway tile wainscot, and a new beadboard ceiling. By gutting the existing kitchen down to the studs and reworking the entire electric and plumbing infrastructure, Wyanoke Builders was able to minimize the depth of the soffit and maximize the height of the new cabinetry. While the existing appliances were re-used, the farmhouse sink, granite countertops, bridge faucet and windows are all new. | $35k | Montclair, NJ
Black and White Bathroom | Very specific goals were set forth as part of this bathroom renovation – create a walk-in shower the homeowner’s elderly parents could use comfortably and replace the aging plumbing fixtures with new models while maintaining the style of the early 20th century home. To achieve this, the bathroom was gutted in its entirety and much of the existing water and waste piping was replaced before the exterior walls were re-insulated. Not only was a new subfloor installed, but the floor also received a cementitious mud-set layer before being tiled which ensures the herringbone mosaic floor tile will not shift and remain crack free for years to come. Incorporating the space from an abandoned stairwell adjacent to the bathroom provided just enough room for the walk in shower which features a surface mounted rain shower assembly, a linear slot drain and a custom built marble shelf unit. | $38k | Montclair, NJ
Brick Townhouse Renovation | Interior renovation of 70 year old brick duplex in one of Washington DC’s historic districts. Aspects of the renovation included an expanded and completely renovated kitchen with custom cabinetry, granite countertops, porcelain floors, new appliances and an eat-at kitchen island. The floors throughout the duplex were restored back to their original brilliance as was the main stair and its handrail and balusters. The bathroom received new plumbing fixtures and the existing cast iron tub was reglazed. | $37k | Washington, DC
MOMA Pied-a-terre | Gut renovation of midtown apartment across the street form the Museum of Modern Art. The badly worn parquet floors were removed and replaced with new wide-plank, hickory engineered wood floors. To best highlight the client’s art collection, museum quality art lights were installed throughout the apartment and the walls were skim coated to ensure a high quality finish. The bathroom received a new marble mosaic floor, deep soaking bathtub, crystal clear glass enclosure, Toto toilet, Toto washlet and Pottery Barn fixtures. | $58k | New York, NY
Family-Centric Kitchen Renovation | This family wanted to renovate and expand the size of the kitchen, increase the line of sight and flow between the kitchen and living room, create a more intimate dining area, and provide a workspace dedicated for their children to sit and do homework. Wyanoke Builders was hired to design and perform the renovation which is scheduled to start in February 2013. | $98k | Cortlandt Manor, NY |
