Outdoor Creations

In March 2018, I signed a contract with Outdoor Creations, which is owned and operated by Fernando and Rebecca Arriga, to rebuild a water garden in my backyard that was falling apart. The work was to begin on March 21st. Rebecca said it would take about two weeks. Initially things went well, but rapidly began to deteriorate. After filling the rebuilt water garden with water, it leaked four inches in the first 24 hours. I called Rebecca and she sent someone out the next day. I drained the water garden so they could repair the leak. The repair leaked as well. I had to fill and drain the water garden four times before they got the leak stopped. They started taking longer and longer to come out and do the repairs. On one occasion, I waited ten days for them to come out. Two months into a two week job, they finally got the leak stopped. They also built a sidewalk along the side of the water garden that had a drain plug in it. Rather than remove enough dirt to build the sidewalk below the drain, they started to pour cement over it. I told them that wouldn't work because I couldn't get the plug out to drain the water garden. Rather than starting over and doing the job right, they put a trough through the sidewalk three inches deep and four inches wide. I called Rebecca again and it was several days before Fernando came out to see the work. When he saw it he said it would have to be redone. When he sent the workers out to rebuild the sidewalk, they did a terrible job. The flagstones weren't flush and some of them were as much as a half an inch higher than the ones next to them. The sidewalk wasn't flat and had a dip in the middle around two inches deep. The south east corner sloped around three inches. Within a week the cement between the stones started cracking and the stones started coming loose. Once again I called Rebecca and she said Fernando would come out and look at it. He didn't show up when she said he would and no one called. I finally sent them a registered letter telling them that if they didn't fix the sidewalk, I would hire someone else and send them the bill. They refused to accept the registered letter so I sent them an email. A few weeks later Fernando showed up and agreed to rebuild the sidewalk. It took them a couple of months to get that done. Outdoor Creations also installed three outdoor electric plugs. Two of the three plug shocked me when I touched the plug boxes. They came out several times and worked on the plugs but didn't fix them. They still shock me when I touch them. They never put a meter on the plugs to test for electrical leakage. I finally bought a meter from Home Depot and it shows electrical leakage. We once again called Rebecca who said Fernando would come out again. He never come out. We called for three weeks and she never returned our calls. Seven months into a two week job they still haven't finished and are not returning your calls. I also sent them an email last week, but they haven't responded to that either. Rebecca told us four months ago that Outdoor Creations would give us a one year written warranty. I have asked her every time we've spoken on the phone to please mail us the written warranty. She tells me she will, but I still don't have it!
