Bosch Aqua Star 125 installed in 2004 has provided many years of reliable service and is now out of commission with a sticking gas valve. The sticking gas valve has let to an over pressurization on more that one occasion and when that happen it shakes loose years of nasty accumulations from years of San Diego quality water. Instead of servicing this unit I would rather do as close to an exact fit replacement as possible. For this small 1 bath house the 3.5 gpm unit was fine do not need or want anything bigger than that in fact for San Diego the 50 Deg F temperature rise and min flow rate of .5 gpm were probably too much leading to occasional flame outs.
