Front Door Installation | Feb 2015 | This project involved replacing an old over-sized front door with another door the homeowner had found that was slightly taller. The door frame and jamb had to be cut out and extended to fit the new door, and the door casing had to be replaced. As this was a historic home in Knoxville, the door jamb and trim were of red oak, which had to be matched both inside and out. A new thermal window also had to be special ordered and installed in the new door. As the threshold was out of level, a new threshold had to be made and leveled, again out of red oak to match the existing wood. Finally, the original fluted columns had to be reinstalled with new plinths. The homeowners will take care of the final staining and painting themselves. | $2k | Knoxville, TN
Kitchen Backsplash | Nov 2014 | Installation of a mosaic tile backsplash in the kitchen. This work was one of a number of projects done for the homeowner who had recently moved. | $200 | Knoxville, TN
Trex Deck | Jul 2014 | Build an 8x10 deck adjacent to existing metal stairs and landing. Trex deck boards were used with their hidden fastener system. This deck had to be nestled into an alcove and perfectly aligned with the existing stair landing. The homeowner then had a metal railing installed (by someone else) to match the existing metal work. Altogether it turned out beautifully. | $2k | Knoxville, TN
Vinyl Floor | Jan 2015 | On this project, the particle board subflooring had been water-damaged and had to be removed and replaced before the new vinyl flooring could be installed. The old vinyl floor was removed, the particle board taken up, new OSB was installed, and then the new vinyl flooring installed. New vinyl baseboard was also was installed per the homeowners preference. | $870 | Knoxville, TN |
