TIMELINE OF SERVICES 1-Apr Service Proposal approved ($4,113.50) 6-Apr Begin Work 6-Apr Sprinkler repairman arrived and assessed work on sprinkler 2- laborers begin digging out plan for flowerbed in backyard 1-Some dirt, 8-bags of mulch, approx. wheelbarrow of bull rock and 7-Hybiscus, 7-Iris and ground cover plants were delivered into the backyard. 7-Apr 2-Wayne (Jireh Field Supervisor) meet with me and talked about sprinkler repairs and told that the repairman (Rudy) said there was dirt in the lines, 1 or 2 solenoids would probably need replaced that wiring and piping would be corrected where needed. 3-Wayne then said the repairman wanted $7-800 dollars for the work. I said that was too high. I told him that I just had the whole system installed 6-months and too repair the patio area system and clean the lines of dirt was too high of a cost. The whole system was put in for $1800 4-Wayne talked to the repairman and came back to me about 15-minutes later and ask if would I be willing to pay $350 dollars. I said yes and he wrote it on the service order and had me initial it. He ask me if I had any problem paying the repairman when he finished, I said no that’s fine and I left the house for work 5-Friday afternoon Wayne called me and told me that the repairman fixed everything except zone 1 and the re-splicing the wire at the patio. He said the repairman needed more pay to finish the job Wayne stated that he left the sprinkler system uncovered around the patio so I could see the work he needed to complete. I told Wayne that the repairman agreed to repair the system for $350 and I expected him to finish the job. I tried to rationalize the situation and ask Wayne how many hours he worked Wayne said about 4-5 hours. I said that means the sprinkler repairman makes $70 dollars an hour?? And he wants more? 6-I told Wayne I was not going to pay any more than the agreed $350. The work needed to be completed. 8-Apr 7-Wayne said they were coming back out on Saturday and no one show at the house. 8-Wayne responded by text at 4:43 pm and said the sprinkler repairman would not finish the job without more pay. So he said they paid him for "services rendered" and he left. Wayne said he was meeting with his Director of Operations and would get back to me. 9-Apr I text Wayne at 2:24pm and said after what has happened so far, I would like to have the drawing or landscape plan on how everything is going to be completed so we can be on the same page. 10-Apr 1-I text the owner of Colonial Irrigation that installed the complete sprinkler system 6 months ago to ask for his advise and input. I told him what had occurred and he said; "That was a pretty high cost for repairs." He would come out on Wednesday to finish repairs for me. 2- I spoke to the Director of Operations at Jireh Trees & Landscaping just after lunch. She said that after reviewing the job with Wayne & Rudy and what has happened that they would not be finishing the project. They would also charge against my $2,000 deposit the cost for labor, materials, and sprinkler repair costs totaling $1,300.00. She said the deposit was non-refundable, but under the circumstances she would refund the balance of approximately $600.00. 3-I said absolutely not, I wanted the project completed as agreed. She said they would not complete the project. 4-I told her if Jireh declined to finish the project then come pickup up all of her company materials, supplies and plants onsite and charge me for the sprinkler repairs only. 5-She said all materials, supplies and plants will not be returned and she would not change her decision. Then she ask me again where I wanted my refund of approx. $600 6-I told her I would call American Express and have the $2,000 deposit charge rejected and then we can work it out in court if necessary. 12-Apr 2:12pm - Juan and his associate arrived at 2:12pm today (noted by arrival text). After assessment, Juan stated; the sprinkler repairman not only was over charging for services, but also disconnected the blue wire of zone 1 of the system that he had stated was not working at the zone solenoid. That is why that zone was not operating. Colonials technician spliced in a new wire with waterproof couplers (approx. 9ft ) at the patio as identified previously by Rudy, Wayne and myself last Friday. When he reconnected the blue wire at zone 1 the system worked normally with no other services required. They finished at approximately 2;25pm after testing all zones before leaving.
