Two technicians for Moreno Plumbing and Heating through American Home Shield came out to my place to check my Evaporative Cooler. The one who "spoke" with me dismissed my concerns that my unit was leaking water and told me it was completely fine. When I asked him any questions (I asked maybe 5-6, I like to understand what is being done to my home), he refused to answer me and would only answer my male partner, even when I'm the owner of the home! He would literally not even look at me, he just maintained eye contact with my partner like I wasn't even a person. The technician didn't even turn on my cooler, he just told me it was functional. He pulled my partner aside to talk to him I guess man to man, and said the cooler was fine and I had no idea what I was talking about, it should just turn on and work. BTW, I went to inspect the unit after he left and even though I'm a lowly unknowledgeable woman, I located the issue: a burst water pipe. (We purchased the house in January, the unit was winterized by the prior owners incorrectly I guess) Thanks for coming out, being sexist, not even finding the problem, and I still get charged 100$! Oh, if you're wondering about the other technician mentioned in the beginning of my review, he spent the entire time in their vehicle on the phone. If you are seeing this after experiencing issues with Moreno Heating and Cooling with American Home Shield: CALL AHS AND COMPLAIN. I filed a complaint and they took off Moreno from responding to complaints on my contract. If they receive enough complaints, they will COMPLETELY remove them for everyone. Please save other people from this unprofessional unknowledgeable company! I'm not typically overly sensitive to these things, but I was just appalled. I didn't think this still happened in 2022!

SCAM ALERT Experience with their team- Calling: great at scheduling but not so at guiding new customers, or new homeowners, overall this person was very indifferent. Called about my furnace, was given a two hour window for techs arrival three days out. Tech Visit: They arrived just past the promised time. I Paid $98.93 for them to tell me that my Ecobee (they called Nest) wasn't made for 'that' - meaning the furnace. Instead of offering a quote on how much it would be to have my current set up work, they vaguely said I needed to pull in more wires for more power and I would be better off just using a regular thermostat with batteries. I ask to have the issue fixed before paying if it meant that was the best they could do to solve the furnace issue they were there to fix. How I solved the problem for free, besides the $100 ripoff- The experience was so insulting I immediately decided I was not going to simply choose such an ignorant answer. I called someone else. They guided me immediately over the phone as to how to check if there was actually a problem and also to get the Ecobee connected while also fixing the original issue. Conclusion- Everything worked just two weeks ago. Ecobee was installed last month. I was not at all satisfied with their poor solution. In the end, I got it working with the help of someone not affiliated with Moreno who was professional and knowledgeable - she was great! And they offered to send a replacement part to make sure everything was smooth sailing when I decide to start cooling our home. Absolutely no thanks to Moreno. In the end my family and I felt ripped off, these people will scam you out of $100 because in the end, they were not here to help. I do not recommend for new homeowners, or people with advanced thermostats, or anyone really. It's 2021. Overall unprofessional, and severely lacking in time management, respect, and knowledge.
