Steve stephens tree & stump removal

I really was hoping at the end of the job to leave a happy review. The team of three guys cutting were very friendly, the owner not as much. They did a neighbors tree and seemed to clean up nicely. We have used Tommy's to do all our other trees, couldn't get in touch so went with Stephens. Despite their quote already being higher then Tommy's. They DID NOT come on the scheduled day, or call. Then showed up today, a week later, while I was out. I initially called the owner from my phone to request the quote, the guy that showed up today told my husband the reason they didn't call was because he didn't have my number. Apparently something was lost in communication while getting the quote as they left massive sections of the tree. I did tell them we would dispose of the debris, however a 4ft+ by 12"+ log was left... that I now have to cut up. They told my husband that I told the owner I burnt wood which is why they left things as such. I don't burn wood, so unsure where that came from. Unfortunately they started while I was out so I didn't get to clarify anything. I honestly would have been fine if that was the extent of it. Miscommunication happens, I was fine. However upon looking out the window I saw they broke the glass on a brand new Restoration Hardware Light. I didn't see it till after they left. My husband called and told him it was broken. In the background you can here the guys saying they didn't think it was broken. The owner then states that it was like that when they got there. Despite what the guys said. He tells my husband he will come look. He comes over and bs' my husband about how there isn't a dent so it wasn't them. There are visible scuffs on the surface. He was quick to wipe all surfaces of the light to try and say, well it wasn't us. Husband said it could have been debris, owner said "no he knows what that looks like." He got very defensive about how they didn't do it. However there was clear signs that something did lightly hit it and broke that corner of the glass. I get that no one wants to accept blame, however I know for a fact it wasn't broken. I just looked at it yesterday evening, while I was planning where new landscaping was going to go. Hopefully they didn't drop limbs on our clay tile roof! I can say I will not recommend them to anyone, unfortunately. The whole thing about the light and how the owner handled it was very unprofessional, having owned my own business I would never have handled this how he did.

We want to commend Steve Stephens & his crew for the great job they did removing many shrubs & a large maple tree from our yard. They did an excellent clean up of the yard afterwards.

Steve's Tree and Stump Service did damage to my property.... from work he was doing at a neighbor's.... as for discussing the resolution... showed up at my house... rude... threatening.... and, ended with a "See you in Court!" And, I'm now assured we will.

Steve Stephens service was very professional. They gave me a quote and stood by it. We had several trees and stumps taken out. They showed up on time and did an excellent job. It is hard to find good reliable service like that anymore. I highly recommend them and will use them in the future.
