Do not hire this company! My parents needed a repair after the 2019 NWA tornado. This company was happy to take the insurance money and talk a big game but they had no follow-through or ability to communicate especially with 70+ folks. My mother wanted a fence built around their garden spot and she wanted it done specifically. She is a landscape artist and drew out dimensions and told him exactly what materials she wanted. Marlin sent guys with materials (the wrong kind) and they started putting the fence in on my parent's property without notifying my parents, And they did not follow the drawn out plan When my mother confronted them and was visible upset they just left and never came back; my father, who has earlier onset Alzheimers, got so upset he couldn't speak (literally) and was humiliated by not being able to help his wife. Marlin just left the materials and 4 fence posts in the ground and never followed up. When I tracked him down, he claimed to be glad I called and said he was sorry and wanted to return my folks the money but had LOST their phone number and other dumb excuses, etc. He also said he was waiting on a refund for the materials he purchased, which he just left at my folk's home. It's been a month and NO money and NO response from this company. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY! He takes advantage of older folks and insurance companies.

I went with Marlin’s company because I liked the idea of supporting a family business, & it helped that he made the lowest bid by ~$250. Marlin put on a southern gentleman act & had great communication when trying to land the contract. This changed immediately after - I had to continuously initiate to receive updates on when they’d be starting the job. Two weeks turned into 3.5 weeks before they began, & they misled us multiple times on when they’d be starting during our last few days of waiting. They were unapologetic when they didn’t start until 10 their first day after assuring us they’d arrive “first thing in the morning” - that they “didn’t know what to say other than shit happens” & “we’re here now.” I asked them to start on a specific side of the fence; they did not. We asked them to replace our chain link in sections instead of all at once for our neighbors’ dogs; they would not. For the first few days, they continuously tried to get us to move our fence line further into our property so they would essentially not have to deal with brush (that we had offered to cut, but they assured it was part of their work). They did this on all 3 sides of the fence they were replacing. They claimed that to avoid our neighbors’ trees, they needed to take significant angles into our yard. The longest side, at over 100 feet long, they wanted to move the line in nearly two feet wide. We continuously assured them they did not need to move the line so significantly, & when the string was pulled, we were always correct. Each day until the last, it was only 2 young men working. On a Saturday at 6pm, we get a phone call from the owner who was having a hotheaded fit & threatening to walk on the job if trees were coming down. We explained we didn’t know what he was talking about, that everything had been worked out, & the tree was not in the way. We were confused why he didn’t clear this with his son/employee instead of his client. On the fourth day, they actually worked through a Sunday to get the posts set in concrete - they were in such a hurry they missed one. Marlin’s son kept pushing the date he’d be finished with the project forward, but by that Sunday, he said the end of Wednesday at the absolute latest. After not hearing from anyone by early lunch on Wednesday, I asked if they were coming out & said the posts were set yesterday. Again, Marlin was dismissive & hotheaded. He cut me off, talked over me, & would not let me speak. He told me he wouldn’t argue with me when I tried to explain that all 3 homes with dogs had been without a fence for a whole week. He told me how his son was not the boss, he was, & it didn’t matter what he’d told me. He gaslighted me in saying he’d told me the posts would have to set for 3 days (he hadn’t). He argued about what 3 days constituted. He assured me they’d be there tomorrow, Thursday, & would have the job finished. He seemed offended when I asked what time to expect them in the morning & angrily repeated “in the morning” - I had to ask this contractor what time they’d be arriving to my home 3 TIMES before he finally said “around 9”. For the 1st time - on our 8th day without a fence - they brought a crew of 4-5 guys & worked from 8:30 to nearly 7 pm to finish our ~260ft of privacy pickets. Even though we’d allowed them to leave the brush, they were not thorough in the remainder of their cleanup, spilling concrete mix on our rock path, leaving behind bits of chain link hardware, a spit bottle, cigarette packaging, etc. Unbeknownst to them, we watched with our own eyes as one of his employees carried a dead squirrel from the hedge outside of our yard (by the street) all the way around our property. You know what we found at our mailbox 200ft away? A dead squirrel, folks. They seem perfectly competent at adding new fencing in open flat land, but if I were you, I would use anyone but them regardless. I will be amazed if this company lasts with the way its owner speaks to & treats his clients.
