If you expect quality, look elsewhere! If you have deadlines to be met or a reasonable timeframe that you are hoping to meet.... then J. Rich Builder is not for you! He has absolutely no regards for any time frame. What he told us for a couple week time frame...wasn't even close! More like months! My husband & I purchased a 1965 bungalow on Pattee Pond, Winslow. Which we knew it was going to be a decent renovation due to its age. Jason came into it after we had already been taken advantage of by a previous contractor, whom we are now sueing. So with that being said we will absolutely admit that we found quite a bit of things either wrong with the camp itself or what other contractors did previously. He did fix some but not nearly what we contracted him & prepaid him to complete. Well that was the kicker....once we told him we weren't giving him anymore money until he completed what we had paid him for....well that didn't happen either! Not one thing that he started did he finish...not ONE! He would show up about 10:30 & stay until maybe 2:30 a few times a week. You can't get stuff done only putting in maybe 4 hours a day. Seriously! Then all kinds of excuses of why he couldn't get there...which we put up with for about 2 Months! Enough was enough. Then on Saturday, January 11 we made a agreement via text to just finish a large set of stairs by the following Friday which was Jan 17th. Which he agreed to. Now is it February 14th and they still AREN'T FINISHED! Seriously who does that! He promised us he wasn't like the previous contractor who took us for a lot of $$. J Rich Builders, that's who! Here we are having to hire another contractor to finish what he promised he would do. Instead he too took the money & ran. Check out his reviews all over social media including Better Business Bureau! He is not accredited! Customers beware!

DO NOT hire this guy! Go look at his Reviews on BBB ( Better Business Bureau ) and other online links! He was hired and paid by us in full, we have ALL THE RECEIPTS, to Build a small back deck, front porch and stairs to the street from our little Cabin and he left all projects incomplete. He gave us many excuses along the way as to why he couldn't be there working just like the Customer complaint on BBB, see attached! BBB complaint dated 7-15-2019 We hired Jason for a three day job to rebuild our deck. He spent several months working on the deck off and on. We were given several excuses as to why several months later the deck still was not complete and the work that was completed was unacceptable. He was hired in July 2018 and gave us excuses until snow fall as to why he was unable to complete the work. In May 2019, we contacted him saying that we needed the deck completed as soon as possible. After several weeks he came out to re-evaluate the previous work that had fallen apart over the winter. We told him we wanted the work completed by the end of May and he ensured us that this would not be a problem. However, by the end of May, the work is still not complete or been attempted to be reconciled. We have since requested our money back to hire someone else that could finish the job. He again ensured us he would get the money to us. Several weeks later we still had received nothing. We contacted him again and he once again ensured us we would have the money. It has now been over a month and a half since The request and we have been ignored by this individual. We have had two other reputable contractors estimate the job. They state his work would have to be completely redone since the work completed was by an “unskilled carpenter.” I am sure we are not the first, nor the last customers J.Rich Builder have/will take advantage of until this is addressed. Thank you.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I was promised that a “simple” job would be completed in 3 days only to wait over a year for an incomplete project. When contacting the owner/foreman all I was met with was attitude and excuses. I was asked for money in advance because he had gotten “screwed in the past.” I will now be taking him to court because he refuses to refund me my money after being given ample opportunities to make good on his word and complete the project. This kind of “business” is criminal.
