We do all types of gardens: water, shade, perennial plantings, vegetable and herb gardens, xeriscape, themed gardens and annual and bulb plantings. We have multiple levels of service from a consultation to answer questions, a design service so the homeowner can do the work themselves, and a full service that covers all design and installation.

I haven't written ANY bad reviews until NOW. Ms Oakes came to our property ( on time! Hence the 1 star...) Indicated an email quote would be forthcoming in one week. Called after 9 days. Said it would be a couple more... After another week..moved on to other options. Disappointing, seeing that she had some great initial ideas and was our First Choice from companies we contacted. In a time with all the digital solutions for time management? I wouldn't waste your time, like I apparently did.

Living above 6,000 feet, with poor soil, we hoped to plant a garden which would bloom from Spring until Fall, attracting birds and butterflies. We contacted Oakes Yard and Garden Design for some suggestions. Molly accompanied us to a local nursery to look at plants and soil enhancers she recommended. The garden was completed on schedule and within our budget. We now have a beautiful garden which begins to grow in the Spring and flowers through Fall, exceeding our expectations. We would highly recommend Oakes Yard and Garden Design for any of your gardening or yard design needs. Rich and Ann Pickl

Finding a designer and company to renovate my backyard was difficult. The other companies seemed to be lacking integrity and attention to detail. After my first consultation with Molly I knew she cared and was dedicated to making my yard beautiful while retaining its function as a play area for my kids. She listened to my vision and used her knowledge of plants and spatial design to create a spectacular oasis where my family and I can spend time together. When we are outside we feel like we are on vacation in our own backyard. Thanks Oakes Yard and Garden design, next year you can do our front yard!

I am so happy to have found Oakes Yard and Garden Design. We bought a house with a slightly neglected yard. After one consultation we had our plan. The fruit and vegetable garden is my favorite, but of course I love my beautiful flowers too. I couldn't be happier with my result and I tell everyone in need to call Oakes Yard and Garden Design, they are so knowledgable, easy to work with and they will come up with beautiful plans no matter your budget.

Sidewalk Strip and Garden Beds | Sep 2016 | Remove all grass from sidewalk strip and change vegetation to low water, low maintenance. Add 2nd tier to existing garden beds and add vegetation to front of house. | $3k | Denver, CO
Front Garden Bed Update | May 2015 | New homeowners were surprised to find out the sellers filled these beds with annual flowers and after they had faded were left with nothing but weeds! We cleaned out the beds and added new grasses and perennials with fresh mulch. The clients wanted a bright and fun feel with a pink and yellow color palette. | $2k | Littleton, CO
Mountain Home Redeisgn | Sep 2014 | This client had relocated from the Denver metro area to the mountains. The homebuilder had landscaped with 1 tree, a patch of turf grass, and a lot of rock. The last thing the homeowner wanted was to maintain green grass in the mountains. We did a complete redesign of the front, and side yards. All sod was removed, the rock was rearranged to form a dry river bed and berm, native vegetation and mulch was added, and wildflower seeds spread along the perimeter of the property. The result was a much more cohesive and natural feeling for the front of a newly built home. | $8k | Evergreen, CO
Backyard project | Aug 2014 | Homeowners wanted a beautiful spot to relax in their large backyard. They wanted flowers and plants that would attract birds, and be water wise. They also wanted to remove and fill in with sod rock "islands" that were in the middle of the grass. The area was steep and water runoff was a problem, so the terraced natural rock walls solved that. The result was quite a transformation. | $15k | Littleton, CO
Privacy | Aug 2014 | This client had an unusual situation where the house behind was able to see directly into their home. Temporary fixes had been made, but a permanent solution was necessary. We constructed a decorative wall that would block the view, and added a garden bed and tree around the area. | $4k | Denver, CO
Xeriscpe redo | Jul 2014 | This client had the front yard torn out and xeriscaped almost 10 years ago. There were some aspects that had gotten to large and imposing for the yard, and it had a messy feel. They still liked the idea of xeriscape, but had since had children and wanted a little turf grass added back into the yard. We cleaned up the entire yard and used some of the existing structure and plants, and added more xeric plants and a small area of grass. | $6k | Littleton, CO
Front yard HOA Reglations | Jun 2014 | This client needed to bring his yard into compliance with HOA regulations. There were requirements that included a small area of turf grass, an evergreen tree and no grading/level change to the property. We designed a low maintenance, four season interest border and added sod to give the home an updated, but very clean look. | $5k | Littleton, CO
Entire Front Yard | Jul 2016 | This homeowner was in the process of re-doing the entire property. The front yard had become overgrown and weedy. They wanted the new house to have a yard to match that would be easy to care for, kid and dog friendly and visually appealing. The cost covers removal of existing vegetation and old soil, new sprinkler system, new sod, decorative rock, vegetation, a custom entryway and all associated costs. | $13k | Denver, CO
Front yard refresh | Aug 2015 | The junipers had overtaken the front yard! We removed all of them and updated the look of the house. We redefined the border of the yard, added timbers for definition, and planted new shrubs, grasses and perennials. Most of them are native and low water consumers. We finished with fresh mulch and a few decorative boulders. | $6k | Littleton, CO |
