After 16 Plus Years I am done with Scotty's Lawn Care after they killed 25 of my plants and never gave an apology. My first experience speaking with part owner Lori was a terrible one. She never once apologized for the mistake. When I told her she should be apologizing she said, "I don't know what to tell you besides I'm sorry for not saying sorry," then proceeded to laugh. She clearly has zero customer service skills and does not know how to treat a long time loyal customer who has never caused a problem or lodged a complaint in 16 Plus Years. Here is a rundown of what happened..... Scotty's showed up to my house and I caught one of their guys hand spraying inside my landscaped areas and walking path killing my ground covers and wildflowers. All of these were planted from seeds a year or more ago so you can imagine my frustration. I told the kid to stop spraying and he apologized. If i didn't stop him when i did he would have done alot more damage. I also informed the other gentlemen working with him to make a note of it so it doesn't happen again. This is the first time I have been home when they came to treat weeds. At no point did the gentlemen mention how this issue could be rectified or if I would get a call later. The next business day I called their office to make sure they were aware and to see how we could rectify the situation because I lost 25 plants and should be reimbursed. Never once did Lori apologize for the mistake. She also asked me if I told the gentlemen at the time of the incident. When I told her I did, her response was, "That's funny because they didn't make a note of it." She said she would send someone out to look at them. I told her I would like to be home to point out the area. She then said, "well aren't they dead so he should be able to see them." I told her I had a big yard so I want to be sure they know the area. She called me back to confirm that someone would meet me after work. I let her know that I was pretty upset that she never apologized for the incident and she didn't seem to care much. This is when she said sorry for not saying sorry and laughed. I hung up on her at this point. When she sent someone out, she sent one of the kids that was there the day of the incident. He said he wouldn't charge me for the most recent treatment but I said that wouldn't be good enough. One treatment is $50 and I thought 2 free treatments would be fair. He said he would inform his boss. I never received a call the next day and I had to call Lori back. She told me she heard of my request for 2 free lawn treatments. She said I wasn't scheduled to receive anymore for this year so she wouldn't sure what I was asking for. She then asked, "Am I talking about next year?" Is it really relevant which year you give me the free treatment? She then said, "as owner she isn't happy with the way that I was talking to her." I couldn't believe she actually thought she was providing good customer service I was the one that needed to be nicer. I then said a couple %$# choice words and told her I was no longer doing business with them. I hung up the phone. All companies will make mistakes, but how you deal with those mistakes is what matters the most Not providing an apology for a mistake that cost your customer money and time, is a clear indication you don't care about your customers. $100 to purchase more plant seeds and for my time to plant and water them isn't too much to ask either. I thought I deserved better treatment considering my long standing history with their company.
