Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here. Not hard at all. Material and time for delivering and hand picking the material so you get the best possible for the money paid which at average is close to what they deliver it for , except they grab any type material. Then I figure The estimated time to complete the job. I total up hourly wage for 3 skilled tradesman and add a percentage for insurance or any special equipment, which we have most of , and submit estimate to the home owner. No estimator software . . I said when I was 11 yrs. old I am a craftsman and a carpenter, I will make broken things new again. and that's what I still enjoy today. How long did it take? finished a basement for my boss lady and finished it in her time period and got more than we started out to do. But recently we did a job for a couple that turned out gorgeous compared to what we thought would be a losing battle. The workmans house had Louisiana siding that had deterated to flapping paper when the wind blew. they couldn't pay for it to be resided so we secured outer layer and caulked and painted their home and gave them the few more years needed to fix the problem while living happily in the process. Because of the inferior quality paint job of the former painting company, the trim was in bad shape. Much of the trim had not been primed, and coverage was thin as if it had been watered down. Some of the wood was in need of repair and some of it required a 3-story ladder to reach. I did not know where to turn for a new painter, and wanted to avoid companies like the previous one. I read Dorsel's review and his pride in his work showed through. I felt he was the best route as the "professional painting company" treated my job as just another 2-day project and moved on. And, if Dorsel proved himself on this job, I'd have more work for him. Dorsel came out and gave me a fair, reasonable quote on the job - he was not the least expensive, but I've learned you get what you pay for, and thought I'd give him a chance to prove to me what a quality job would look like. He's particular and detailed oriented - that mattered to me - it was worth it! I think he did more work than he anticipated, but it wasn't a problem. I think Dorsel can fix, paint, repair anything - very knowledgable, and tries to help you save money by pointing out what's worth it and what's not. I think you could trust his experience with any maintenance job. I'm happy with the results. I could see the paint coverage was much better, wood that needed replacing was replaced (not hidden under a coat of paint). I have a long list of other projects I need help with - he's the one I'll trust to do it right. We had a Foyer, hallway, two quest bedrooms and hallway going down stairs. Painting job was excellent in all rooms. Outside railroad ties needed to be replaced. Once the new ties were placed walk way looked like new again. I would recommend these folks for painting or any other jobs for a inside or outside your home. Because of the inferior quality paint job of the former painting company, the trim was in bad shape. Much of the trim had not been primed, and coverage was thin as if it had been watered down. Some of the wood was in need of repair and some of it required a 3-story ladder to reach. I did not know where to turn for a new painter, and wanted to avoid companies like the previous one. I read Dorsel's review and his pride in his work showed through. I felt he was the best route as the "professional painting company" treated my job as just another 2-day project and moved on. And, if Dorsel proved himself on this job, I'd have more work for him. Dorsel came out and gave me a fair, reasonable quote on the job - he was not the least expensive, but I've learned you get what you pay for, and thought I'd give him a chance to prove to me what a quality job would look like. He's particular and detailed oriented - that mattered to me - it was worth it! I think he did more work than he anticipated, but it wasn't a problem. I think Dorsel can fix, paint, repair anything - very knowledgable, and tries to help you save money by pointing out what's worth it and what's not. I think you could trust his experience with any maintenance job. I'm happy with the results. I could see the paint coverage was much better, wood that needed replacing was replaced (not hidden under a coat of paint). We had a Foyer, hallway, two quest bedrooms and hallway going down stairs. Painting job was excellent in all rooms. Outside railroad ties needed to be replaced. Once the new ties were placed walk way looked like new again. I would recommend these folks for painting or any other jobs for a inside or outside your home. Material and time for delivering and hand picking the material so you get the best possible for the money paid which at average is close to what they deliver it for , except they grab any type material. Then I figure The estimated time to complete the job. I total up hourly wage for 3 skilled tradesman and add a percentage for insurance or any special equipment, which we have most of , and submit estimate to the home owner. No estimator software . . How did you get started doing this type of work? I tell you the truth .I knew at a very early time . I said when I was 11 yrs. old I am a craftsman and a carpenter, I will make broken things new again. and that's what I still enjoy today. How long did it take? finished a basement for my boss lady and finished it in her time period and got more than we started out to do. But recently we did a job for a couple that turned out gorgeous compared to what we thought would be a losing battle. The workmans house had Louisiana siding that had deterated to flapping paper when the wind blew. they couldn't pay for it to be resided so we secured outer layer and caulked and painted their home and gave them the few more years needed to fix the problem while living happily in the process.
