  | Mother Raccoon in Santa Cruz Home | Jan 2013 | The raccoon mother had been observed under a house near Twin Lakes State Beach, in Santa Cruz. Company owner/operator, Rebecca Dmytryk, entered the crawlspace where the mother had been seen. She found the nest, cautiously gathered the babies and shuttled them out. They were placed in a box, insulated with newspaper to keep them warm. Next, the mother raccoon was chased out from under the home. She stayed nearby, hiding under the deck. Cries from her drew her to the reunion box where she collected and relocated one of the cubs to an alternate den site. Meanwhile, all the entry points were sealed so she could not get back under the home. That night, the mother raccoon retrieved the rest of her cubs. Success! | $429 | Santa Cruz, CA |
