For over 30 years, our family has been caring for and maintaining fine, handmade oriental rugs. Based in Severna Park, Maryland, Capital Rug Cleaning is a family owned and operated rug company backed by 30 years of industry experience and thousands of satisfied customers. Attracting clients from all over the country, rugs are dropped off, picked up and even shipped in from neighboring states to be cleaned. We’re proud offer pickup and delivery to Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia. Keep In Mind: Many companies do not practice genuine rug hand washing methods. Our Customized Process: Every rug is thoroughly inspected for wear and damaged areas. If any, we'll make note and proceed to testing dyes for color fastness. Rugs are then dusted front and back before being wet. We proceed to soak the rug completely and depending on the type of carpet, we apply a non-toxic cleaning solution. Rug is hand washed using a brush, going the way of the pile. Rugs are flushed with water and rinsed completely, removing all remaining traces of soil. Finally, all water is extracted and rugs are air-dried, usually in a matter of hours. Once fully dry each rug is examined, brushed, vacuumed, and groomed to look it’s best. This process may take a little longer than some mass production facilities but we believe that the best touch is a personal touch. Each rug that comes to us for cleaning and/or repair is treated with the personal attention to detail that only we can provide. Why is the process important? Handmade textiles are one-of-a-kind works of art. They should not be treated with a "car wash / automated" process, treated with harsh chemicals, or unexperienced people. Especially, if your rugs are handmade of natural fibers.
