Update 11/2018: BC pro agreed to reimburse labor on project as agreed upon with Home Advisor but the check never came. They have apparently closed their account with Home Advisor. Again, did not uphold agreement and once again did not honor their word. Just like their word to fix any issues on the project. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Project: Paint, Varnish or Stain Interior Surfaces I hired BC Pro in 2017 to paint the interior of my new motorhome. I explained that all wood and laminated surfaces must be sanded prior to primer and 2 coats paint. Having researched painting the interior of a motor home I knew that taking a shortcut would not end well. I asked that the details be included in the scope of work. Sanding in this case was vital to the outcome and could be disastrous if not done. We discussed this repeatedly, but when the work began I didn't see any sanding going on. I repeatedly talked to the owners and repeatedly expressed my fear that the sanding wasn't being done. When I became insistent on these surfaces being sanded, one of their workers took one of my sanding blocks and said he was sanding. This was after they had started priming. And no, this was not an additional step to lightly sand between primer and paint. It was only done after I realized they had not sanded to begin with and, of course, they never got down to the original surface anyway. I also insisted that they clean any sanding dust before applying primer. Again, they used one of my dusters and had none of their supplies on hand. No vacuums, dusters, etc. I was assured that the work was being done properly and they took 2 photos of one of the workers sanding (again this is after they applied primer). A terrible and long story short, the husband/owner was dismissive and insisted that the workers were doing the work properly. Well, it is evident that they did not take the steps quoted and repeatedly requested. Of course, all my fears were realized: I have paint peeling and bubbling throughout. I repeatedly contacted them to come back and redo the work properly, as they agreed to do in writing. This dragged on for months and finally I was told they would not redo the work but would give me 50% off the labor cost back. At this point I wanted to be done with the stress of this project, so I agreed. I waited months and, of course, no check came. Now they don't answer my calls and have left me with little recourse. So far I have lost the cost of the (Sherwin Williams) paints $500.00+ and their total labor. So I've spent $2,500 and now it will cost more to correct. I have given them well over 1 year to fulfill their promise to guarantee their work and to correct any issues. It is clear they have no intention of making this right. I have been more than patient and am now taking action. I will be getting other pros involved to see what will be involved in correcting their work. Not feeling good about this at all. Also, I had to ask them to use drop cloths because they got paint on the sofa, flooring, etc. We gave them access to the garage for their use but they did not bother to clean up after themselves. An important note is that I called Home Advisor for help and they never bothered to contact me. This has been very prolonged and stressful and I don't wish this on anyone.
