Mountain Carpenters, LLC is a small company that offers the rare combination of friendly, creative and efficient residential construction. All phases of construction are done with the utmost quality and integrity. Mountain Carpenters has been in business since 1982, serving Ashe County and Watauga County in northwest North Carolina. We are a residential contractor building custom, new homes, additions and creative remodels, as well as historical restorations listed on the National Historic Register. Custom hardwood cabinetry, furniture and built-ins are also available. We offer many green building options, having built non-toxic homes for twenty years. Owner Jim Wait is a NC Licensed General Contractor, and Mountain Carpenters is fully insured with a General Liability and Worker's Compensation insurance. Jim is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington, a member of the NC Lions Club, the Ashe Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau.
