Reinstalled two door locksets that had been improperly put in by homebuilder. Replaced sprayer unit on kitchen sink. Hauled away lawn furniture abandoned by the seller.

Customer had old, custom-built, badly worn laminate countertops on handbuilt pine cabinets in her 1940s-era home. Cost of new custom prefab countertops would have been nearly $2,000 -- and cabinets would have had to be replaced at significant additional cost due to the way they were built. Instead, I removed the old laminate, resurfaced the countertops, and installed new laminate. Major facelift, with a very delighted customer!

Out-of-town customer purchased pergola kit for friend's new home. We arrived at the jobsite and found that the area where the structure was to be installed was bare, hardpan clay that sloped in two different directions. After a lot of measuring, digging and leveling, the pergola was complete and the homeowner was delighted.

1920s-era church roof now covered with EPDM-type membrane roofing had been neglected, resulting in serious, widespread leaking and significant ceiling and wall damage. I repaired several active leaks and defective flashings, cleared drains, and applied fibered asphalt coating after creating diversion channels to reroute water flow. Now it's time to repair the interior damage -- another project for another day. Estimated savings to the church because I don't have commercial roofers' overhead costs: $1,000.

A leading realtor was ready to close a sale when the buyer demanded several repairs based on the home inspection. Among the diverse projects: repair surface damage in a fiberglass bathtub, reverse the (wrong) hot-and-cold water orientation on a shower valve set, reseal several roof vent caps, repair a chainlink fence damaged by a falling tree, deodorize a dishwasher, and replace the pressure-relief valve on an electric water heater. Assembled and erected a Lowe's steel-frame, fabric covered gazebo on a concrete patio for an elderly couple. They didn't want it bolted down to the concrete, so I used concrete blocks as anchors -- NOT my preferred method, but theirs. In February 2016, a severe wind blew off the fabric and bent the frame. They ordered a new cover and called me to install it. The cover was the right part number but not a good fit. I was able to modify the gazebo frame, adjust the fabric size, tweak the installation process, and make them very happy with the result.
