Let me first acknowledge that I respect a mans livelihood and gave this provider every chance to remedy those issues which are most glaring. I was met first with evasiveness, followed by complete lack of response to multiple calls. The job: Jim was contracted to prep and paint the exterior of a 2 1/2 story house with 2 coats, and to repair or replace some broken or rotted clapboards and trim. Prep work was minimal. Almost no sanding or scraping was performed. No nails were reset and I think he used 4 tubes of caulk on the entire house. Primer was only used on the few patches he had sanded. When asked how he could complete a side of the house in one October day, with 2 coats of paint, he told me that is standard procedure and to not worry about what the manufacturer claimed on the can. Based on the significant amount of paint peeling 6 months later, I would advise anyone to trust the manufacturers recommendation. There are multiple areas where I can confirm only one coat was applied, as the original paint can still be discerned. The cutting work, where two colors meet was poorly done in many areas, and properly done in others. The clapboards that were removed for replacement were simply discarded on my gravel patio, splinters, paint chips, nails, and all, with no intention of cleaning it up. At my insistence, they did help me load what we could clean up, into my truck for me to dispose of at my cost. They removed a corner board and replaced it with a wider one, creating half inch overlap on the corner of my house. This received no caulk and one coat of paint. Work was performed in the fall, and by the spring paint was peeling on sections of the house. I contacted Jim who told me he would be out to fix it when the weather warmed. I called him back in early June to see when he would come and he told me the week of June 24th. I have called him 2x per week since on two different numbers with no reply. Do not use this company.
