I have a very bad experience by hiring KJ’s Handyman Service did my home repair and maintenance from 6/18/2018 to 6/20/2018. The initial quoted price was $1740, when the work was started the first day on 6/18/2018, Steve (Ken’s daddy) with another person was working onsite. I found the woods on the crown was rotten, and replacing only one piece of wood, caulking and painting the crown on the initially quoted would not help. After I discussed with Steve, he asked and I agreed to pay additional $250 to replace the crown. The total should be $1740 + $250 = $1990. Minus the initial $870 deposit, I only owe them $1120. But after they finished the work on 6/20/2018, the final invoice they billed me $1630 = $2500 - $870. During they were working on the crown installation, they broke my screen window under the crown. When I called Ken, the owner and told him my screen window was broken by them when they were doing the crown installation, and asked him why he overcharged me $510. Ken denied their responsibility rudely and dishonestly for broke my screen window, and threatened me to put a lien on my house if I would not pay him the full amount $1630. As I only discussed with Steve, and I agreed to pay $250 extra for replacing the crown. Rest of work has been covered within initially quoted price. I was watching them working from the work started to end, Ken never told me that some work gets done needs me to pay extra money. All the work they did and done was their responsibility and had been covered in the initially quoted $1740 plus $250 I discussed and I agreed with Steve. After I got threatened, I checked BBB KJ’s Handyman Service complaints and realized that I just one of his victims got threatened and blackmailed by Ken because less than 1% of people posted their complaints on BBB. I sent an email and told them again I only owe them $1120 and asked them to replace my screen window they damaged but they sent me an email to inform me that KJ’s Handyman Service, LLC would file a Construction Lien against my house. Doing business and making money should base on honest and hardworking, not relying on cheating, threatening and blackmailing people. Based on my experience working with KJ’s Handyman Service: If you do not want your things get damaged when they were working on your home, you should avoid use KJ’s Handyman Service. If you do not want to be cheated and overcharged, you should avoid use KJ’s Handyman Service. If you do not want to be threatened, blackmailed and put a lieu on your house, you should avoid use KJ’s Handyman Service.

Ken was amazing in getting our project done on time and in a expert fashion. He was here when he said he would be here (even though it was the coldest weather of several years and much of the outside work had to be done up front) and the completed work was wonderful!!! He transformed a sun porch into an all weather room, matching finishes on interior existing paneling and outside brick work expertly!! Ken has done small projects as well as this very big project for us. I would recommend Ken to anyone for getting a job well done.

We had KJ's Handyman Service help us with several projects, ranging from the addition of an outdoor covered patio to Fence repair to general "handyman" work. The team was responsive, fair, quick to help and reliable.
