Strokington & Co. is an owner-operated business offering woodworking design and building services on a fixed-bid or time-and-materials basis (at the rate of $70 per hour). With almost four decades of professional experience, whatever woodworking project you're planning, I've probably done it. Long-standing relationships with subcontractors allows for collaborations that deliver quality work on time, on budget, whatever your requirements. I offer custom woodworking of all types, including home offices, media cabinets, libraries, mantels, furniture, moldings, storage solutions, and more. I regularly collaborate with other tradesmen to deliver services I do not personally provide, such as electrical, plumbing, stone and tile, specialty finishes, etc. and would be glad to provide references. I take the environmental impact of my work seriously and strive at every turn to reduce that impact through aggressive recycling, efficient use of tools and vehicles, and keeping abreast of new trends and technologies that conserve energy and reduce waste.   | Library in historic Samuel Bridge House, Lexington, MA. | May 2007 | Bookcases and with base cupboards installed along one wall of a room in the historic Samuel Bridge House, Lexington, MA. Floor and walls were all severly out of plumb, square, and level, making everything from design to installation more of a challenge than usual for a job of this scope. Exterior walls were part daub-and-wattle construction, covered with ancient scratch plaster and subsequent applications of plaster, sp securing the cabinets was tricky. Existing historic moldings were replicated on the new work to match the old. | $7k | Lexington, MA |
