About Philip's Design
I offer reliable help assembling and installing IKEA, CB2, Bestar, or any other ready-to-assemble brand of furniture as well as exercise equipment and even work some evenings and weekends. Please beware of asking anyone to assemble your new items because you might end up with a lot of extra parts and a shaky broken product. Many pieces of furniture or home gym equipment come with a lot of hardware (different screws, bolts, etc) and just using the wrong screws can permanently damage the product. I also offer all other sorts of handyman help: Setting up multimedia equipment, like wall mounting TV screens etc Installing wall kitchen cabinets and any other wall fixtures, shelves, mirror, clothing hooks etc Assembling exercise equipment like an elliptical machine, treadmill, basketball hoop, bowflex, universal home gym Electrical installations for ceiling fans, lights, ovens, etc Locks replacement Window Blinds, Shades and Curtain rod installation Please drop me an email for quickest help.

  | TV Wall Installation with extending and Lowering Mount | Mar 2014 | A regular wall mount was going to hang the TV too high up on the wall above the fireplace mantle. Customers wanted to be able to watch their TV still at regular height but without having a table in front of fireplace. This mount gives them the option to push the TV out of the way when they are not watching and need more space. This mount requires wood studs behind the drywall or solid bricks. In their case however, the chimney was fake and there was only thin plywood behind drywall. I had to use toggle anchors for extra support as well as double the number of screws that came with the mount just to be certain the TV would stay there securely. | $170 | Washington, DC |

  | Kitchen Remodeling | May 2007 | All previous kitchen cabinets had to be removed, as well as the appliances. The ceiling was originally lower above wall cabinets so I had to completely cut the drywall there and see what was behind it, in order to fit the newer taller cabinets all the way up to the ceiling. There were some pipes running around the ceiling corners so a cabinet had to be cut out slightly on top and made to fit around. Wood enclosures had to be built for other of the pipes so they do not show outside cabinets. Then a wood molding was installed around the top of the cabinets in order to seal the space above them to the ceiling and create a finished look.
