I want to install a raised floor over a space that today has a patio. Some people think I should remove old slab and pour new concrete before proceeding, but I don't see the point, isn't the old concrete settled and stable?

The answer depends upon what you are adding. If a room, the existing slab probably does not have footings to support the weight, and would most likely not be allowed by local codes. I understand the existing slab is okay now, but adding weight may change that. Best is to have a contractor or designer evaluate what is there and what you want to add. I have a concrete deck with stamped overlay. I want to lay paver tiles on top but my concrete slabs was poured in 3 separate periods. Main Slab porch when the house was built. the extension shortly after and slabs around the pool when the pool was installed. I am worried about the slabs shifting and cracking the tiles. Is there ways around this?

Andrea: Cost depends upon the amount of work needed, sometimes the jack pads or piers need adjustment, other times leveling is simple adding or adjustment of shims. Best is to get a manufactured home expert out to view your unique needs. Porch does not have manufactured home specialists to refer, so I did a quick Internet search "Las Vegas manufactured home leveling" and found this company in your area had the best reviews. We do suggest you obtain multiple estimates from several local companies. https://www.richardsmhs.com/ ... Read more
