I paid Houston $389 to snake out a main from an upstairs sink, which took him fifteen minutes to do because my mother threw some wipes into her toilet. Instead of snaking out the drain or toilet from the bathroom where the problem started, he snaked the adjacent bathroom because the blockage had also backed up the toilet in this bathroom too. He also said it was easier to snake it from the other drain because it was a straighter shot. It appeared that he removed the blockage but one week later, the toilets started to drain slowly again. When I contacted the company less than two weeks later, they immediately said that there would be an additional charge to come out and that they couldn't guarantee their work because the blockage was due to wipes or so they say. Houston immediately accused my elderly mother of putting more wipes in the toilets which she did not since I threw out all the wipes once I realized that they were a problem. I have spent hours arguing with Houston via Thumbtack and text messages expressing my unhappiness with his policy to not guarantee his work which he failed to mention up front. If he had told me that he wouldn't guarantee his work, I would not have used him. You can't tell a customer of your policies after the fact and expect them to accept them. I am now going to have to pay another plumber one week later to come behind this company to do the job correctly by snaking the main from the toilet. At least I won't have to pay $389 to incorrectly have the clog removed because Georgia Rooter Services is going to do to snake my main from the toilet for $345. They also said that they would go down 200 ft instead of 35 ft that this company did and use a camera to show me that the line has been completely cleared. Houston told me that it would be $389 to clear from a drain and an additional $129 to snake it from the toilet for a total of $518 vs $345, you do the math. It is my opinion that this company is not forth company and unprofessional. I would most definitely, not recommend them to anyone. After stating that I would be writing a review on Thumbtack, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and post my experience on social media, Houston refused to budge an inch and resolve the matter. I should have flushed the money that I gave Houston down the toilet since his service and non-guarantee were a waste of my money.
