GK Roofing

George Kosor took an $8k deposit from me for landscaping and promised to start the next weekend. Four months later and he won't respond to me except for once when he said his business had blown up and he promised to return my deposit. A few "check is in the mail" texts later and nothing. Happened to my friend as well. Sadly we're having to sue him now. I have copies of those texts of course, such a huge disappointment and I'm very upset.

I think it is very interesting LS, that you have reveiwed GK roofing on several different sights but your story changes a little with each review. As well as the price you were charged. On one sight you said you were chatged over 100k. On this site its just tens of thousands. Interesting

Stay away from George Kosor of GK Roofing!! In my opinion, George is an extremely disappointing person, and I would give George Kosor zero stars if I could. The truth is he has been unresponsive to me, and he refuses to stand behind his work. The fact is I hired George Kosor to install a slate roof, gutters and downspouts on my new house. It was a large project, and we paid George an enormous amount of money for the job. We have had MANY problems with our roof, and we can not get George to come and fix them. The flashing is bad, and we have had leaks. Many slate shingles have fallen off, and many others are broken. Additionally, the original gutters that George installed were way too small for a house my size, and as a result, water was constantly pouring over them. Some of the gutters were hung crookedly, and some of the downspouts were not even catching the water. It was a bloody mess. We actually had to replace all of the gutters at our expense because George was not willing to come out and fix them. The fact is George ignored my husband's emails, text messages and phone calls for months. At one point, my husband actually spoke with George's office assistant, Josh, who told my husband that George was not responding because he had suffered from a stroke. I do not know if George actually had a stroke, but interestingly enough, I ran into George at the Starbucks at West Paces, and he was driving what appeared to be a Ferrari, maybe it was a Maserati, who knows. I think he looked amazing for a stroke victim. In fact, my husband confronted George at the Starbucks, and George said he was not responding to us because he was "mad" over some aluminum downspouts. Apparently, the grader at my house messed up a couple of aluminum downspouts, and the grader has not reimbursed George for them. It appears my husband and I are being held hostage by George over a couple of cheap downspouts despite the fact that we paid George tens of thousands of dollars for our roof and gutters. As I mentioned earlier, the gutter work was so shoddy that we had to replace most of the gutters and downspouts George originally installed. Therefore, I fail to see why George thinks I still owe him money. I believe he owes me money for the cheap gutters I had to replace six months after they were installed. The bottom line is that the roof is one of the most important components of a house. Do NOT trust your roof to George Kosor. He has been unresponsive to me, and the quality of his work is poor to say the least. If George offers you a "great" deal on a roof, do not be fooled. Go with a more reputable roofer. You might pay more up front from a good roofer, but you will save money in the end.
