Graceland Windows and Doors LLC: A Cautionary Tale so Buyer Beware At this point I have only regrets and a legal judgment against Graceland Windows and Doors and I hope to save you from the same. Here is my opinion. To begin, I contracted with Graceland to replace all the windows in my home. This decision was based on the content of their website and discussions with their sales people. Unfortunately many of the statements told to me were simply not true. For example: - They claimed they do not use subcontractors only employees for the installation. The crew that performed the install of my windows was not only a subcontractor but was in fact the subcontractor of a subcontractor. - The salesman also painted a picture of their employees going above and beyond to protect my property. Considering the damage done to my home, this could not be farther from the truth. We were told the installation would take 5 full days (and would even end with a pizza party!). On the first day of the installation, a crew employed by the subcontractor, descended on my home and hit the ground running. Because they were working in several rooms at the same time, it was impossible to monitor their work. After only 2 ½ days, the job was complete according to them. When they left I had to clean my floors 3 times to get all the gravel, dust and grime left behind by their workmen. While cleaning I noticed the hardwood floors in all 3 bedrooms had been scratched and pitted by construction debris being ground in under the workmen’s feet. I immediately notified Graceland of the damage. The owner, Jacob Boone, decided a ‘touch up kit’ was all that was required to repair the floors (by the way there is no such thing as a hardwood floor touch up kit), without ever coming to inspect the damage. He offered a few hundred dollar credit for the damages and I declined. He began a barrage of insults and accusations including calling myself and my wife racists. He said I did not know anything about installing windows and therefore could not be a competent judge of the workmanship. When I would not back down, Boone offered a $600 credit if I would forget the hardwood floor damage. I declined this offer as well because the independent estimates I had procured were much more than that amount. In addition to the floor damage, when the job was ‘competed’ the two picture windows in my living room were left with the wrong trim because (supposedly) the correct trim needed to be ordered. It took Graceland 3 trips to my home and 4 ½ months to acquire these 2 ‘trim pieces’. It was revealed during one of the visits by a subcontractor that the windows had been incorrectly installed. The 2 windows should have been installed against each other and instead there was a gap between them. This statement was later confirmed by the manufacturer of the windows which is why no trim piece existed to cover the gap. Once again I contacted the owner of Graceland, Jacob Boone, to inform him of the installation error. He sent another subcontractor to attempt to fix the problem with foam and caulk. When I called him once again to express my dissatisfaction with this makeshift cover up of the problem, he said they would not come back out because his contractor said the job had been done correctly. True to form Boone could not be bothered to inspect the work of his subcontractors personally before making his decision. Because of the failure of Graceland Windows and its owner, Jacob Boone, to stand behind their work, I was forced to hire a lawyer to file a civil action against Graceland Windows and Doors which I won. I am now the proud owner of scratched and pitted hardwood floors, 2 incorrectly installed windows and a judgment for damages, attorney fees and court costs against Graceland Windows. Due to the lack of business ethics and integrity by Graceland Windows and its owner, Jacob Boone, I am now tasked with the correction of the damage, reinstallation of the windows and pursuit of payment. It has been over a year since this nightmare started. As a final note, I think the windows made by NT Windows in Ft. Worth are very good windows and I would recommend them to anyone. With regard to Graceland Windows and Doors, I wouldn’t let them put windows in my doghouse and I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy.

We work with Jacob on a project which need to open a window and a pocket door on the wall of a bonus room. Even if he is not the vendor which offer lowest price, we decided to go with Graceland because of Jacob's patience and professionalism. He always reply to email and text within several hours and keep us updated on the project progress. Given that Austin becomes a big construction shop recently, lots of contractors/companies are overloaded with projects and delay some or all of their customer's progress. Jacob always keeps his promises of delivering which is the best among all contractors we have worked. During the project, Jacob's team fix all the concern we raised and unpredictable issues that happened without increasing the price. Overall, we are 100% satisfied with Graceland and will recommend this company to anyone who want a worry free remodeling experience with their house!

We recently downsized homes to a zero lot line neighborhood and the immediate drawback for us was the amount of outside noise we heard all throughout the day (dogs, trucks, neighbors, etc). The home is only 8 years old but all the windows were builder-grade and the sound control was horrible. Upon researching options I came across Graceland and spoke with the owner, Jacob Boone, and he recommended I go with a specialty glass they offered called "Hero Glass", which is a laminated dual-pane glass package. The results have been dramatic. Where with our old windows we could hear every little nuance outside, we now have to look out the window to see if it's even raining!! Jacob was the consummate professional through it all, the windows delivered as promised, and the installers did an excellent job. We definitely recommend Graceland for any sort of window replacement project.

We are very satisfied with our experience replacing windows with Graceland. We had done this sort of thing before at our home in Kansas so we had some benchmarks on pricing already. I don't want to sound like a broken record repeating what other reviewers have stated but Jacob was great to work with. He was honest and thorough, and I felt like he genuinely cared about getting our project done right. Mr. Boone showed up to the job site, walked through the final inspection with myself and his installers, and he answered all of our questions. We do recommend this company.

The problem was that the set of original French Doors really limited the amount of natural light coming into the space. The Fix: We blew out 2 French Doors, installed headers, and put in a gorgeous door with expansive views to allow as much natural light as possible. The end result was dramatic and beautiful.
