| Paint and gel stain over honey spice oak | Feb 2015 | We applied primer and paint over some of the honey spice colored woodwork and gel stain over some. The gel stain is a method used to change the color of the stain without completely sanding out the old finish. With this method you can still see the character of the wood while applying stain over the top of the existing finish. After the gel stain is applied we apply a clear-coat to seal the stain. This is a very cost effective, less invasive, and aesthetically appealing alternative to replacing all of the trim or sanding it all out and starting over. | $4k | Edwards, CO | |
