Blain (Windemere Concreat), Barrington, Illinois removed & replaced my sidewalk. I didn’t realize that he had raised my sidewalk by 5”. After the fact I realized why: I had a tree removed several years prior that had many roots. Blain intentionally didn’t want to deal with the roots (PIMA) so he poured on top of them. Because of this, I had to redo my landscaping with 7 yards of topsoil, regretting the pitch. Cost me $1000 extra landscaping headaches ($700 + seed+ watering + raising gate). Also, he pour a slab by my back door to make it level (code). why he would pitch the slab by the door (towards the door) is beyond me. When I called him on it, he tried to re-activate the concrete and level it only to create a low spot in the middle causing a puddle, requiring a saw cut for drainage (which he promised to do but hasn't been done). Stay away from Windemere Concreat. He is also friends with the Hoffman Estates inspection person (who should have warned me about the high sidewalk before he poured, that’s his job is to protect the homeowner from jobs like this. Shame on both of them.
