TV Mounting on Drywall

Oct 2018

This was a very awesome opportunity to demonstrate the proper way to hide cables behind drywall at a very affordable price! The 60" TV was being mounted in the living room in between two large windows; the first challenge was to make a precise opening in the drywall to minimize intrusion (if you ask me, it felt like surgery; that's the care we take). The second challenge was routing the cables down towards the receptacles! (This is honestly where most time is spent; imagine routing some flimsy cables down a wall you cannot stick your hand in and have to probe as in spear fishing!) Once those two challenges were overcome, the TV was (once again) surgically mounted (very firmly) onto the wall. The smaller TV, 32", was to be mounted in one of the bedrooms, helping add a modern yet stylish look to the aura of the room. One would imagine that it would have been an easier task, since the TV and mount were smaller than the prior, but nay! That sucker was extremely difficult to mount and route the cables behind the drywall! To start, the mount was a little difficult to work with (I recommend purchasing one of our articulating mounts or flat mounts; reinforced for durability), it's design made it a challenge to route the cables down. Second was the build of the frame, for you see... there were two beams horizontal and below where the TV was to take it's throne! Thankfully, our technician was able to overcome this barrier by using the conduit line and very carefully navigate the cables down the fragile, yet overwhelming drywall. This was actually a fun project that made us think outside the box in order to make someone's project a reality.
