I live about 3 hours from Touch of Elegance. Yes, it took 3 hours and trying 4 other furniture restorers to find the best of the best! Not hours or the Alleghenies could keep Lin's Touch of Elegance a secret! I am a consummate antique buyer and only buy pieces that "speak to me". Invariably I go looking for something and come across something else. Sometimes the character of a piece is so strong, that I ignore its flaws. I knew this 80 year old dresser with such character required the expert skills of Lin. Not only did it require significant repair with additional wood to harp mirror and dresser, but also matching of at least 3 colors of stain. Lin brought this dresser to the glory of its time and will shine yet another 100 years! I have the pleasure of enjoying this piece everyday as it is the first thing I see every morining and the last before I close my eyes to sleep. Do not waste time looking for another furniture restorer. Know for certain that you have found the best at Lin's Touch of Elegance. I am loading my SUV now to take her my next load of treasures over the mountains.

I inherited a Hoosier cupboard which belonged to my great aunt. It was painted green and some of the wood had dry rotted and was in need of replacement. I was given a quote, which they stuck to. After they disassembled the Hoosier and removed the green paint I returned with my dining room chair. They were able to look at my chair and determine which stain colors to mix to make my Hoosier blend with the rest of my furniture even though my Hoosier was made of different wood types. It looks great in its new home, my dining room. I recommend Lin’s Touch of Elegance to everyone I meet that wants to restore an old treasure.

after more than a year of attempting to negotiate with this merchant, we're still out $1500+ ......multiple attempts to resolve this matter without civil litigation including through the Better Business Bureau. Settlement offers were insulting low - less than half of what we've paid. Merchant feels it's reasonable to expect us to pay for upholstery that we never selected TWICE - first time, she selected a replacement fabric without informing us our original selection had been discontinued and second time her employee ordered wrong fabric but settlement offers were inclusive of upholstery costs. We were also expected to pay for work that was never contracted for as well as work that was contracted for and never completed. Negotiating appeals processes is time-consuming and expensive. We chose to not obtain legal counsel since we'd already invested so much money with this vendor to begin with. Overall, unethical small business willing to forego reasonable customer service and quality workmanship to keep failing small business afloat.
