Home Builder - Bellevue, WA
Kim Schademan and his family's story is a remarkable American tale of grit, perseverance, challenge and success. His great-great-grandfather John Jacob emigrated from Germany becoming the first homesteader in Nebraska in 1889. The Schademan family of farmers and ranchers continued to grow but when the Depression and the Dust Bowl hit the Great Plains in the 1930s, like so many other families, they lost virtually everything. So Kim's grandfather packed up his six sons and eight daughters and headed west in their Model-A Ford. "It really was something right out of The Grapes of Wrath," says Kim.

Redmond Residence | Jan 2015 | Building the perfect estate style home for a large family in Redmond provided special opportunities. We paid particular attention to taking full advantage of the 2.5 acre setting by a carefully thought-out siting process that allowing us to make maximum use of the expansive outdoor spaces. We also focused on making the best use of available daylight, keeping the interior bright and warm. For this active family of six we also designed a number of unusual and fun interactive interior spaces. | Redmond, WA
Bellevue Country Estate | Jan 2015 | The client wanted a country feel with elegant details for this home build on a large lot near downtown Bellevue. We took extra care in siting the home to maximize views and take full advantage of the large yard for the familys two young children. We created an open floor plan allowing for numerous family gathering areas. We also paid special attention to maximize lighting including custom trims and windows. | Bellevue, WA
Pikes Peak Residence | Jan 2015 | This custom home build was done for a painstakingly demanding client. We started with a partial tear-down, keeping the original foundation and basement, resulting in significant savings on the project. We made generous use of African mahogany and cherry building the custom cabinetry to compliment the ten foot ceilings. | Bellevue, WA
Compton Green Residence | Jan 2015 | This unusual house marries classic contemporary design with element of Fung Shui. That includes a front door and master staircase facing to the southeast. We also incorporated a number of family-friendly features that included a large connected family room and kitchen along with a mother-in-law suite on the first floor. In addition we were able to maximize the footprint for the home built on a challenging in-fill site. | Bellevue, WA
Kirkland Residence | Jan 2015 | We had a great time working with this client to build a Kirkland home of their dreams. To achieve the look and feel they wanted, we sourced a number of recycled materials including the beautiful old wood used in in the kitchen flooring. We added a lovely stain-glass window that came from their grandfathers original home. We also helped them hunt down some unusual and very cool light fixtures we discovered at an antique store in San Francisco. The result was a stunning, inviting home reflecting the clients taste and vision. | Kirkland, WA
Suncadia Residence | Jan 2015 | For a long-time client we built this Cascades getaway in Suncadia. We focused on making maximum use of the spectacular views this wooded setting provided. To allow for entertaining we designed and built an expansive, open floor plan connecting the inside and outside spaces, again putting special care to embrace this lovely natural setting. Primarily using Northwest cedar we were able to build a beautiful home that fit perfectly into this rustic mountain setting. | Bellevue, WA
