Morgan Hill Taj

Jun 2010

Morgan Hill Taj Silicon Valley home. San Francisco Bay, Peninsula. A 12,000 ft.2 A two level Villa with covered pool, temples and winery. Interior Design and purchasing. They had a house on a hill designed by famous Hindu Architect Chary Dagam who had just passed away and they needed help with the Interiors. The house had 72 columns and lots of arches, she said. We Faux finished all the interior columns in Calacatta Gold, to soften them and make the space warmer and elegant. The great double height Foyer views the home office, with the kids study in the balcony above. We joined them visually to create a two level library look in dark red stained drift oak. In the Living room we covered the fireplace shaft with a Versailles Cast stone overmantle, selected green tones to bring the garden in and a circular layout with curved seating as seen from above. Motorized sheers under two 30 feet tall antiqued velour drape panels on the sides. The rugs were produced in India bespoke for the rooms. The family room has two sectionals facing each other, one looking at the TV other facing the fireplace. Games table at the end by the wet bar. Jerry, designed and executed the interiors for our custom home to our total satisfaction. This included furniture, curtains, carpets, faux painting and cabinets. His project management and budgeting estimates were on target. The teams he hired were thoroughly professional and the end result was great. A.& M. C. Featured. Western Classic Charm. Buena Vista Deco

Aug 2009

Buena Vista Deco. Two level Penthouse in Buena Vista Park, San Francisco, CA Penthouse. Two levels, 2 bedroom 2-1/2 baths. Interior Architecture and Design A second time around. A Repeat Client and we relocated furniture, fabrics and Art from earlier project. Architectural salvage pieces were kept. A Deco glamorous mirror discovered at nearby Antiquarian store, hangs over crushed chenille fabric. The color and style were an inspiration for the project. The upper level landing above had plenty of natural light from skylights, while the lower level library had non. We prescribed a Glass Floor to have the two levels communicate. The Glass floor Landing required structural engineering and reinforcement for an earthquake zone. We added a wall to wall built-in book case, with wet bar and marble top. Under the adjacent staircase we carved a new powder room. Salvaged mirrored doors relocated on the sidewall make the wall float. A booth was added for dining at a corner to increase the living space, then we carved another black wet bar from a closet. Antique Art Deco dining table and armchairs. A matching pair of Andre Arbus rugs sets the tone for the double bay space.
