Long Custom Building and Remodeling

David D. Long A native of Bloomington-Normal, David graduated from Bloomington High School in 1968 before serving in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1969-1971. After an honorable discharge, he attended Illinois State University and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors Degree in Business. While attending college David honed is skills working as a carpenter. In 1976 entered into a career as a general contractor specializing in new construction and remodeling. In 1979, David relocated to Phoenix, AZ building for Pulte Homes. In 1980 David returned to Bloomington where he married his wife, Kathy and began Long Custom Building and Remodeling, Inc. Now , for over 25 years, David has been remodeling and building quality homes in the Bloomington/Normal and surrounding areas and was even the feature story of the Builder/Architect Magazine. Some of the organizations that David has belonged to are: Vice President of the Bloomington-Normal Home Builders Association in 1998 President of the Bloomington-Normal Home Builder Association in 1999 Member of National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Member of Easter Seals Illinois State University Redbird Club Member of Eastview Christian Church Sponsor's' Legion Baseball, BNGSA Softball, Normal West School Booster Club and Traveling Soccer Teams Kathy Long A native of Armington, Illinois. Kathy graduated from Olympia High School in 1974 then attended Illinois State University. While at ISU, she worked in the Housing Department and Placement Office. After college, Kathy worked as an Administrative Assistant in Research for Ciba-Geigy Seeds until 1990 when she began her career in the construction business along side her husband. Some of the organizations that Kathy has belonged to are: Served on the ISU Redbird Education Scholarship Fund Committee from 1992-1997 An active officer in the Parent Teacher Organization, positions held included Vice-President and President among others Member of Eastview Christian Church Sponsor's Legion Baseball, BNGSA Softball, Normal West High School Booster Club and Traveling Soccer Teams
