My husband and I hired Pyramid Design Group to do a major renovation of a row house in Queens. It was a major project including 3 floors and the house hadn't been lived in for several years - the scope encompassed a new bathroom, all new electric, new kitchen, installation of central A/C, all new finishes, as well as assisting us with the interior design which as first time homeowners was a fantastic bonus! Richard’s design ideas were terrific – he really helped us make the most of every inch of our space in a small house. Richard worked with us throughout the whole process including design, permits, finding a contractor, construction management, and interior design. The process was smooth and low-stress, and proceeded quickly – which was a huge priority to us. Communication with Richard is very easy and he happily answers all of our questions and concerns. We would definitely recommend him again.

Richard was our architect and designer when we downsized from our family home. We combined 3 apartments to create a space that met our new needs. Richard was instrumental in helping us define our needs, design the space and source the materials. He was always available to answer questions and deal with any immediate needs that arose. The attention to detail made the difference between an ordinary renovation and a spectacular space that we now call home.

Richard was marvelous! Being an architect as well as a designer, he saved us a great deal of money by observing problems that could have been disastrous. He listens well and is a true gentleman.

MANHATTAN CONDO RENOVATION | Apr 2014 | This project included building a design around an antique 1820 American Empire Secretary on Chest. We choose to balance this beautiful antique with classic modern pieces from the 1920's and included a few contemporary pieces. In addition we included a few "found art" objects in the design mix, and incorporated an interesting color scheme. | $85k | Manhattan, NY
CUSTOM DESIGNED FURNITURE | Oct 2013 | This sofa is a recent piece that we designed in conjunction with the manufacturer. Take a look at the legs. As you can see by "thinking outside of the box" the results can be creative and unusual. Also note there are no seams on the long sofa back, this can be achieved by railroading the fabric. | $9k | Riverdale, NY

HISTORIC TUTOR RENOVATION | May 2013 | This 5 bedroom house is located minutes from Manhattan, in a 280 home NYC Landmarked Historic District. The home originally built in the 1930's required a major renovation. Our mission was to respect the homes original character while redesigning the home to function appropriately in the 21th century. All existing mechanical, electrical ,and plumbing systems were replaced. The work also included the installation of new double glazed custom leaded windows, custom riff cut oak parquet floors with mahogany borders, and an enlarged kitchen and bathrooms. Two smaller rooms were combined to create a gracious Dining Room with 3 custom designed pendent lighting fixtures installed over the dining table. Interior stairs were altered and custom designed wrought iron railings installed. New recessed and decorative lighting (pendant fixtures, surface mounted fixtures and wall sconces) were designed and installed, as well as historically appropriate wood base , door and windows mouldings. Plaster crown mouldings and ceiling medallions were selected and installed. The existing painted wood colonial style fireplace mantle was replaced with an antique oak mantle, and the firebox was re-tiled. Paint colors and furnishings were selected to highlight the renovation. | $950k | Bronx, NY
SPEC. HOME TRANSFORMED | Nov 2011 | This house was purchased as an abandoned damaged spec. home. We were hired to upgrade the finishes, lighting, flooring, doors, hardware, etc. When we were brought into the project we first analyzed the owners needs, and realized the kitchen was too small and in the wrong location. The adjacencies did not work and the space did not flow. We decided raise the floor level of a sunken family room, and transform the space into a gourmets cooks kitchen. The required changing the plumbing for sinks and diswashers, and the gas supply for the stoves. The existing fireplace in the Living Room was to small to create a focal point. We designed a Floating Tilted Slab of 2 slabs of bookmatched Rainforest Marble with concealed lighting above, and inserted a gas firebox. The final major change was enlarging the master bathroom, this required structural changes, including the installation of a glue lam beam, installed above the ceiling. | $250k | Bronx, NY
