New Beginnings Residential Services

Last year we discovered there was a rodent problem in our elderly mother’s home after 28 years. That in itself was horrifying, but being forced to become a rodent serial killer was a…bit out of my scope. Long story not very short, a year later…rodent problem solved. It was at this point Mother decided it was time for a new dishwasher…who very gratefully, isn’t me. When it came time for sister and I to pull the old dishwasher to make way for the new, we found that the rats had eaten a saucer sized hole through the floor underneath, and even worse, the press-board below was so water damaged that half of it was just completely MISSING! After checking out some of his reviews, and hemming and hawing around with Mother and the rest of the family, we finally called Ken from New Beginnings Residential Services. Ugh, what a relief! Ken showed up the next day to give us a very fair estimate and made arraignments to complete the job the following day. Ken arrived, on time, and in the pouring rain. It was when he started to work on the floor that he noticed the drain pipe from the garbage disposal wasn’t even connected to the drain pipe under the floor! I guess that explains why, all of a sudden, we had such problem with the rodents. They had been staying at the freaking Four Seasons for a year and eating homemade soup every day. All this time we had been blaming it on the vacant houses next door. Ken went out of his way to reconnect the pipe to it’s proper location and completed the job precisely and efficiently, all while very graciously dealing with a flooded porch, two barking dogs and three very spirited women. I neglected to mention, in the midst of the chaos, sister, A.K.A. “The General”, arrived just in time to make sure everything was being handled to her approval. Ken was professional, knowledgeable, detail oriented, fair, and honest. Despite the weather conditions, he even took care to make sure he cleaned up the already wet floor. We will definitely use New Beginnings Residential Services again and confidently refer friends and family to them. Ken made a stressful situation for us much less taxing.

Ken and his men created an incredible cat sanctuary for our 5 cats. When it was completed, it far surpassed my expectations! It is fabulous. They also installed privacy fencing and laid sod in my backyard and landscaped it for me. I have never seen anyone work as hard as Ken in my life! Finished jobs on time and was very reasonable with charges. He even made suggestions that would save us money and avoid spending good money after bad. I suspect that is what he did with 'Andi', the reviewer who gave the company a bad review. I recommend New a Beginnings highly. Ken and his men were friendly, efficient and polite. They did a really super job! We couldn't be happier!!

I called to find a handyman to replace a leaky seal on my toilet tank, where the water pipe enters the tank, the rubber seal was disintegrated and leaking. I also wanted faucets on my tub switched out. Without even seeing the project, this guy was telling me to switch out the toilet. When I advised that I didn't want to spend that kind of money when it wasn't needed, he said that if I wasn't willing to spend the money then he didn't want me as a client. This call took place 3/20/17. Apparently if the "job" isn't a big enough job, he will try to make it a bigger job so he gets a bigger paycheck. BEWARE
