Anthony and Elizabeth Wilder lead the talented Anthony Wilder Design/Build staff in creating custom architecture with artful flair. The husband and wife co-owners strive to realize the company's vision of inspiring client's to build their dreams by delivering the ultimate design/build experience. With over 35 years' experience in architecture and construction, the team at AWDB creates unique spaces that are decidedly different because they reflect the individuality of each client. architecture with whimsy echoes our goal of making every project spectacular and special. We believe the term "whimsy" is best described as "that nagging idea that life could be magical; that it could be truly extraordinary if we were only willing to take a few risks" -Bob Goff. "For us, it's all about capturing the very essence of what makes you distinctive, free-spirited and fun," says Anthony Wilder. "We believe that great architecture begins with great relationships with our clients, and we have a strong culture of caring, integrity and responsibility," says Elizabeth Wilder. "Everyone at AWDB cares about each other and each client, so we'll do what it takes to exceed even our own expectations." Whether your project is an entire custom home or a simple facelift, clients can count on our hands-on team to make it magical-- That's what sets Anthony Wilder Design/Build apart from the rest. Our process is enhanced by close relationships with our clients-each project is assigned an architectural designer, interior designer or selection manager, project manager and lead carpenter-the project team works together, with the client, from start to finish. Because we have a deep understanding of how design affects production, we are able to help clients make informed decisions in every phase of the process. At AWDB, it's about integrating the core elements of architecture, construction, interior design and landscaping, striking the right balance between design, cost and schedule. More about what we do: Custom Homes: A custom home involves razing the current structure and starting anew, from the foundation up. Whole Home Renovations: A whole home remodel involves interior and exterior remodeling, often gutting and rebuilding the interior while retaining all or part of the original structure and architecture. Additions: Home additions are perfect for homeowners who love their existing house and neighborhood but need more space. Working with a design/build firm on your custom home addition is especially advantageous, as we handle everything from engineering to building permits, ensuring that your project complements your current interior and exterior architecture. Interior remodeling: Our interior renovations have included historic remodels, master suites, media rooms, foyers, dining rooms and more. We specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodels that maximize space while improving function and appearance. Our certified Kitchen & Bath Designer (NKBA) saves you time and frustration by guiding you through the material selection process from beginning to end. From tile, countertops and plumbing fixtures to paint colors, lighting, cabinetry and layout, our designers help you select options that fit your needs, budget and lifestyle.

Trimmed to Perfection | Sep 2013 | We incorporated the following architectural details in this home addition/remodel: - Extensive and thoughtful use of millwork and trimwork throughout the home. The clients wanted the house to be trim-heavy." - A layered, sophisticated and imaginative design - Outdoor living space that is an extension of the indoor space. Additionally, the clients noted that their sloped lot which is such a nuisance for them functionally, provides them with a pleasing aesthetic; The steep slope of the back yard meant that the clients view was high up in the trees. They noted that looking out into the trees is an effect they want to maintain. Thus, we incorporated a "tree house effect." - More space and natural light throughout home - Clients wanted their new house to feel new without compromising the integrity of the existing home's history. | Bethesda, MD | ||
